Adoption Requirements/Policies

?If you rent/rent to own or live with a family member, we will need the contact information of the property owner to verify that you are allowed to have a pet on the property. Please talk to your landlord about adopting as there may be breed and size restrictions that may apply.

?Everyone including ALL children present in the home will be required to come in to meet with the animal you are interested in.

?A Meet and Greet is required if you have other dogs in your home. All pets in the home must be up to date on at least their Rabies vaccines to be considered for adoption! It is HIGHLY recommended that your dog/s also be up to date on ALL vaccines. Please contact your Veterinarian to allow us to speak with them.

?Adoptions are based on the best possible fit for the new owner and animal. Adoptions are never done on a "first come first serve basis". Your application may be approved or denied for any reason as we are trying to find the best fit possible in choosing lifelong homes. All dogs and cats are altered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped along with parasite prevention.

?We DO allow out-of-the-area adoptions - however everyone living in the home as well as any dogs must come to the shelter to meet with the animal of interest to process your adoption! We do not take deposits and/or put holds on the animals available for adoption and we do not ship our pets - adoption requires a face-to-face interview with a member of our staff and your interaction with the animal.

?You are applying for a minimum commitment of 10-15 years when you adopt a pet. Be sure you are willing and able to make the investment in time, finances, and training (average $1,000 annually) to properly care for and maintain your new pet!
