About Us

Senior Animal Special

To honor our #wisewhisker senior animals, the Sacramento SPCA is reducing the adoption fee for all animals age 5 and up to $25 from May 24 – 28.  Stop by the Sacramento SPCA this week to meet your soulmate!

Adopting A Friend

There is someone here waiting for you. All adoptions must be done in-person to ensure you’re sent home with the best friend that is right for you and your lifestyle.

Adopting a pet is a big decision.  Please keep in mind that our selection of adoptable animals changes daily. Plan to visit us often as you search for the right companion for your family. We look forward to helping you.

Who We Are

Our Mission

The mission of the Sacramento SPCA

To foster a loving and compassionate community for animals and people by providing assistance, creating lifelong relationships, and saving lives.

Since 1894, we’ve worked to reduce pet overpopulation through affordable spay/neuter services, promote the humane treatment of animals through education and outreach, and assist pet owners through a variety of programs and services designed to keep pets and their families together for life.

The Sacramento SPCA is an open admission animal shelter, which means we accept animals that are surrendered to us regardless of health, age, breed or behavior. Open admission shelters play an essential role in providing care to the thousands of animals that would otherwise have no safe refuge.
