If you've read the pet's description and think he or she just might be the perfect match for your family please fill out an adoption application which can be found above. We will get back to you ASAP after receiving your application with the status of your application.

 If you are approved we do a phone interview, or set up a meeting at an adoption event and do the general interview then, and if everything goes well with that, the next step is a meeting with the dog you are interested in. If we approve your application we will hold the dog, for a limited amount of time, until you are available to meet with him/her, we do not work on a "first come, first serve" basis. We'll either set up an appointment with you at the dog's foster home or have you meet with him/her at Petsmart at one of our adoption events. We try to work around your schedule, and what is convenient for you. Remember this meeting is a trial, it doesn't necessarily mean the dog is yours... we still have the right to deny you the dog.

If the meeting goes well and if you, SOAR, and the dog think the adoption is a perfect match, the dog can most likely go home with you right then and there. A home check will be scheduled if necessary.

The final step, our Adoption Agreement is filled out by you, and an adoption donation is given to SOAR Rescue (Cash, Money order, or Check ONLY). Our adoption donations range from $100 to $400 depending on the dog's age and breed or any other circumstances that may be. The donation is tax deductible. All dogs are altered, vaccinated to date, de-wormed, micro-chipped, front-lined, temperament evaluated, and fully health checked before placement. All of our dogs also go through a ten day quarantine period to insure their health before they are put up for adoption. If the pet was an owner turn in and had seen a vet within the last ten days they go immediately up for adoption.

Once a SOAR dog ALWAYS a SOAR dog. Upon adoption you have a two week trial period to 'test out' your new family member to make sure it is an indeed match, if for some reason the dog doesn't fit in we will take him or her back. Within the two weeks your adoption fee is refundable excluding a $75 processing and time fee. If for any reason the dog does not work out in your family we will take the dog back into our care at any time during the lifetime of the dog. (We recquire that the adopted dog be returned to us, as per contract. As long as the dog still has an adoptable temperament. If not we will work with you and see what we can arrange.) If you must return your dog any time after your two week trial period, it is mandatory that you give us a minimum of a two week notice so that we can find adequate housing for the returned dog. If you can no longer house the dog you will be responsible for a $9 a day boarding charge for the following 14 days.

E-mail is the best way to get a response from us, but if you do call... Messages are NOT received until 9pm the evening they're left. Thank you.
