RAINBOW RIDGE PET RESCUE
We are an all breed rescue but vigorously support the Crusade of the American Pit Bull Terrier and other "bully" breeds. Please take some time to learn about this very lovable, loyal but misunderstood breed.

"Never, never be afraid to do what's right, especially if the well being of a person or an animal is at stake. Society's punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way."
Author Unknown but we did borrow it, with permission, from our friends at:

A Rescuer's Creed
I shall be a believer of all that is good in man
and of all that is deserving in animals.
I shall plead for their lives, campaign for their safety
and uphold their right to a natural death.
I shall seek out the injured and the maimed, the unloved,
and the abandoned and tend to them in their last days.
I shall not forget their place in the hierarchy of life,
nor that we walk in each other's paths.
I shall bear witness to the wonder they bring into our lives and to the
beauty they bestow upon our souls.
I shall renew their spirits when they are waning,
bind their wounds when they bleed, cradle them when they whimper, and
comfort them when they mourn.
I shall be near them in their hour of greatest need -
a companion and friend when the time has come.
I shall watch over them and console them and
ask that the angels gather them in their arms.
From the creatures of the earth I shall learn
the fruits of compassion and undying love,
and I shall be called the beloved of God.
In their company I shall indeed be blessed.

We are a family of animal lovers who have chosen the mission of saving unwanted and homeless dogs. We take them into our homes and help them to become happy and active members of a family lifestyle. All of our pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, have been heartworm tested and treated if needed. Other medical issues are addressed as well. Most are crate trained when they move onto their new homes. Our pets are only adopted to homes that will welcome them to be "inside" family members and not condemned to a life of loneliness outside. All of our pets will require an interview, a vet reference and home visit to help insure we are finding them the best home possible. If no vet reference, adopter will be required to provide personal references and possibly meet additional requirements.
ADOPTING A FRIEND
We require an interview, vet reference and a home visit. We comply with the Tennessee Mandatory Spay/Neuter Act for adoptable pets--all animals must be spayed/neutered within 30 days of attaining 6 months of age. Rainbow Ridge can offer information on low cost spay/neuter programs available in the area--all of our pets are spayed/neutered even pups-as we are an advocate for pediatric sterilization which as been sanctioned by the American Veterinary Medical Association for 10 + years.
