                             About the Shelter

Mission Statement

We define shelter as a facility that provides protection, housing and care for unwanted animals.

At the Preston County Animal Shelter we believe all animals deserve to be treated with dignity, care, compassion, as well as to be deserving of a forever home.

Volunteers/Donations:

Volunteer Assistance and Donations, monetary and material, are greatly appreciated, as well as needed!

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the animal shelter to pick up an application. Volunteers can help care for the shelter animals by: walking, bathing, socializing, transporting

…or by simply LOVING them!

We can also use help with general cleaning at the shelter such as cleaning kennels, cages, laundry, floor and other surfaces. Help is also needed with projects for improvements at our facility.

Donations are greatly appreciated and are what keeps our facility running. We accept donations for Dog Food/Puppy Chow, Cat Food/Kitten Chow, Leashes/Collars (any size), Laundry Detergent/Bleach, Cleaning Supplies: Pinesol, etc., Blankets/Towels, Pet Carrier-Plastic, Dog Boxes-Plastic, Brushes/Combs, Shampoo, Plastic Totes/Lids for storage.

Monetary donations are always helpful too, though it is best to ask what we need so you can designate funds toward a specific cause. Call the Shelter Manager for more information.
