"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing
because he could only do a little."    Edmund Burke

"""I looked at all the caged animals in the shelter...the cast-offs of human society. I saw in their eyes love and hope, fear and dread, sadness and betrayal. And I was angry. "God," I said, "this is terrible! Why don't you do something?" God was silent for a moment and then He spoke softly. I have done something," He replied. "I created you."

One of OperationCARE members found this dog lying in the road on her way home (rural area of York, S.C.) obviously having been struck by a car and terribly wounded.  One leg is very bad and it was feared that it may have to be amputated, but the vet says that an operation may save the dog's leg.   He quoted $600 for the surgery and hospitilization.

First visit to Petsmart!

Please help us to care for our "sanctuary dogs".

We always have several that we have commited to care for indefinitely in foster care.
These are dogs that have physical problems or behavorial issues that make it hard to place in a home.
They are wonderful sweet dogs, but require understanding and financial means to
provide needed medical care, etc.

Here is one dog that we recently took in.

She has OLD injuries to a leg.
The vet says that there are so many old healed breaks that no surgery will help.

AndreSM.jpg (29393 bytes)

We have had Andre for a few months now and he has attended the Petsmart Adoption Day for 3 Saturdays, but he is still waiting for a home!  He is about a year old, neutered, housebroken, and crate trained, weighs about 20 pounds.   Andre gets along with other dogs, both small and big and is not aggressive towards cats.   He is very active and QUICK!  He needs a home with a fenced yard to get exercise and since he loves to play, it would be nice if there was another dog or older children to play with him.  He learns fast and could probably be trained to do agility dog tricks.  If you are interested in meeting Andre, email his foster mom - Bbruce777@aol.com.   (3/25/12)
