We are only able to care for all of these animals, through the generosity of those around us. All of the proceeds from the items we sell on eBay, through, and through my online Tupperware store, are used to pay the numerous vet bills and to purchase pet food and supplies. Over the past couple of years, several celebrities have donated items for us to auction off to raise money for the animals on My Cat Ranch. For a complete list of current and recent online fundraisers, please click here. Thank you very much to our supporters as we could not have done it without you! Many various Buy It Now items of interest are available in our eBay Store!

Who We Are

Since we moved out to the country, our home has become a haven for many, many animals. We started out with four tiny kittens, which were dumped in the street in front of our house by someone in a truck. We took them to the vet, cared for them, and tried to find them homes. No one wanted them, so we still have them to this day. When they were old enough, we had them all fixed. But, since then, we have had many, many more unwanted animals dumped out here. We do our best to keep them all up to date on their vaccinations. We also get them spayed or neutered as we can raise the funds. We currently have 50 cats, 7 rabbits, 2 ferrets, 2 rats, a chinchilla, and an iguana who live inside with us. The rest of the animals we have to keep outside, or in the separate quarantine building, because there is no more room inside. We would love to see many of these precious animals adopted, as we really can not afford to care for the many cats, dogs, and assorted animals in our care.

We are just a family of five, who live in the country, with a lot of love to share with these unwanted animals. Our hearts are full, but unfortunately, our wallets are not. If you would like to sponsor an animal, please contact us by email at Thank you!

As of January 1, 2007, my Cat Ranch has merged with Acadiana Humane Society making us a 501c3 non-profit organization. This has expanded our resources by giving us more volunteers and foster homes. However, we are now responsible for even more animals. All donations are tax deductible.

Adopting a friend:

Adoption Fees: Due to the cost of vet bills being so much more then we are asking for, our adoption fees have gone up. Cat adoptions for most cats are between $95.00 to $150.00 each. Dog adoptions are $120.00 each. However, purebred dog adoptions are $150.00 each. Senior dogs, and also heart worm positive dogs, have a reduced adoption fee of only $100.00.

As an adopter you must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Have a valid driver's license
  • Have the knowledge and consent of your landlord, or own your own home
  • The entire family must agree to the adoption
  • Be willing and able to give the proper care and medical treatment for the pet

If you meet these requirements, and you would like to be considered for adoption, please click here to print, fill out, and mail in an application.

Meet Our Rescued Animals:

Until our shelter is built, we are not open to the public. If you would like to meet one of our adoptable animals, you may do so by appointment. Please email us at and let us know which animal you are interested in meeting. We can then set up a day and time to meet at the Petsmart or Petco in Lafayette, LA. I am normally at Petco on Saturday's from noon until 4PM with a few of our cats and small animals for Adoption Day. You can find us at the Acadiana Humane Society table in the front of the store. If I know ahead of time which cat, dog, or small animal you are interested in, and which day you plan to be at Petco, then I can make sure that I bring the animal you are interested in with me that day. Thank you! For a complete list of adoptable animals, please go to our sister website at
