In the past we have only had Shepherds and for several reasons decided to have mixes and little dogs as well . Unfortunately, this has kept us from having our beloved Shepherds. We are trying to get back to mostly Shepherds as we place our present selection . Please take a look at our medium mixes: Sheba and Nico as well as our smaller cuties: Johnny and Dora.Spread the word to all your friends to do the same and to consider us if they are looking for a new pet! We need your help in telling people NOT to BUY, but to ADOPT and to please spay and neuter.
Very sadly, our first and long-time supporter, friend and volunteer Pat OBrien passed away suddenly Pat and Nancy have adopted 8 shepherds from us and fostered a few over the last 20 years. They have supported our organization in many ways.Pat loved his German Shepherd "Kids" and he and Nancy took such great care of them from the best food, extrordinary vet care, but most of all, their unconditional love. All of us at Mostly Shepherd will miss Pat.We ask you all to include Nancy and the "KIDS' in your thoughts and prayers.

Mostly Shepherds is a non-profit animal rescue organization that primarily rescues German Shepherds, but also rescues other dogs and cats. All our animals are evaluated by a licensed veterinarian, receive check-ups and shots, and are spayed or neutered. Our goal is to find the "right owner" for the "right pet". We help you find the dog that's best for you! The dogs are housed through the kindness of a generous Kennel owner and some foster families.Although we take most of our pets from a shelter, we sometimes will list a pet for a private owner after meeting the pet. We can't promise anything, but we will advertise for you if you give us all the necessary info and photos. Please contact Libby Cook at 732-671-3708 .
