Majesty is in desperate need of good Foster Homes

With your help we can save so many more.

By Fostering you will not only save the life of one Dog, but will also make room for another homeless Rottie to come into our Rescue to receive the care and attention they so desperately need,

therefore in reality TWO lives will be saved from a life of suffering because of YOU.

Fostering a dog is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. To see these precious dogs come into rescue so broken, sad and confused, wondering what they have done wrong that they ended up like this is just heartbreaking. To watch them thrive under your loving care, regaining the trust they once had and watch them as they go on to find their own forever homes is just an amazing experience. Without foster homes many dogs die in shelters every day, If you would like to Foster one of our wonderful Dogs

please click here to download our Foster Application.

If you cannot Adopt or Foster will you please think about donating or sponsoring one of our homeless pups?

In loving Memory of Brutus
My Dog, My Friend, My Family member, My heart ...and the reason Majesty Rottweiler Rescue was started.

Fly with the Angels my dear sweet Brutus

Brutus touched so many lives and has done so much more for me than I could ever have done for him, we truly love him and miss him terribly.
Our hearts rejoice for having met and loved you but are truly broken because of our loss.

Brutus was such a wonderful, sweet regal and very majestic boy, he was a true representative of what a Rottweiler should be, friendly to all but a bit stand offish and you certainly had to earn his friendship but gosh when you did, you knew you had something so very special that is not found every day. On January 27, 2009 Brutus lost his battle with cancer, our hearts are truly broken.

I want to thank Krissie of Mountain Rottweiler Rescue who is my dear Friend and is the person responsible for Brutus remaining alive and finding his way to me. Krissie fought to keep Brutus from the shelter and sure death. Brutus had some food and resource guarding issues when he first came to me, if he had he gone into the shelter which is where he was headed the very minute we got him from his previous owner, I am 100% certain I would not have had this wonderful Dog in my life, they would have euthanized him that very day. I can never thank Krissie enough for what she did and for bringing Brutus into our lives. Thank you Krissie from the bottom of my heart.

Fly with the Angels my beloved Brutus, until we meet again, you will be truly missed.

About our truly amazing Nate

Nates journey from Shelter on March 9, 2011 to Rescue and now in his own FOREVER Home with us.

Nate had bilateral entropion with an ulcer on his left eye, he was almost blind and in severe pain, his surgery was done by Dr. Ruby Schaupp at Chadwell Animal Hospital in Abingdon Md.
Next Nate went to orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Weeren at CVSS in Towson Md to have his leg x-rayed to see if it could be fixed. Dr. Weeren referred us to Dr. Roa at CVSS in Annapolis Md who did Nate’s leg surgeries. First surgery was done to straighten Nates front right leg, then time to heal before having the second leg surgery which entailed cutting Nates leg in half in order to allow the bone to grow. Nates leg has grown 3.4 inches and on January 5, 2012 Nate was given a clean bill of health by Dr. Roa and can now run and play just like any other dog and is ready to now go to his forever home. We are just thrilled for Nate, it has been a very long and trying time for him but looking at the end result makes it all so worthwhile, I believe if Nate could speak he would say the same. UPDATE: Nate decided he was already in his FOREVER Home!
Pictures of Nates journey below and also a picture of our wonderful Orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Roa and staff of CVSS.
Below that is a short video of Nate running and playing as all Dogs should be able to do.

Photobucket Photobucket

Nate had bilateral Entropion surgery to alleviate the pain he had to endure every moment of his life, he was updated on shots, heartworm tested negative, neutered and chipped. Nate was seen by two Orthopedic surgeons and has had two different leg surgeries, the first surgery on April 6th was to straighten his leg, the second surgery on August 10th was to lengthen Nate's right leg so it will be the same as his left, which allows him now to walk, run and play just like any other dog. After the last surgery Nate's recovery period included weekly trips back to the Orthopedic, Dr. Roa in Annapolis for x-rays and adjustments to the hardware which held his leg in place.
As may be expected Nate's medical bills were over $10,000.00 but we feel so VERY worth every penny, to see Nate enjoying life as all pups should is just priceless.

Excuses made by people giving their family members away, they are not new, we have heard them all.
PLEASE think and research the breed you are interested in before adopting or buying a puppy so you are not the one giving these same tired excuses! A dog is not a passing faze, a dog is a lifetime commitment, one that should not be taken lightly, when you bring a puppy into your home you become responsible for every aspect of his life. Be responsible, teach your puppy and take your dog to a good obedience training class, help him to become the very best he can be, teach your dog to become a good canine citizen and a happy member of your family. Just as you are responsible for any child you bring into this world, you too are responsible for any pet you bring into your home.

It is with a broken heart that we announce our dear Buster & Cindy have passed away:
Buster went to Rainbow Bridge on August 25, 2009 ~ Cindy followed on May 10, 2010

We had the pleasure of these dear precious Dogs for only a short time, Cindy for not quite 2.5 yrs and Buster even less but in the time they were with us they became a very important part of our family and we loved them dearly and our hearts are truly broken. Until we meet again my sweet Angels, you will be dearly missed.

~Cindy and Joey's Story~

The news report below shows the monster that owned Cindy and Joey when they were starved nearly to death, and his “excuse” was to "blame it on a relative" ! Seems we’ve heard that same “excuse” before, remember Michael Vick and a few of the other NFL players who were also caught abusing Dogs? Guess that is the latest defense for Animal abuse? We need to hold these monsters and the Judges who let them get away with it RESPONSIBLE!

How much is that doggy in the window?

What is wrong with this world? We talk to many people about this and even some of our friends and they just don't get it! We will continue to educate about buying from pet stores which perpetuates the life puppy mills. Don't patronize pet stores that sell puppies and kittens. If you want a pet, research a breeder or contact your local breed club.

You say…."But I am still saving one. I just couldn't let her sit in that cage; I had to buy her!" so you just bought the puppy, but what about the parents who will never get out of the disgusting puppy mill? They will be bred repeatedly until they are dead. When a bitch or stud is no longer profitable, they are euthanized and it's not done by a veterinarian. The parents are prisoners for life.
Most importantly, these dogs are never taken out of their cages or treated by veterinarians. Socialization is necessary for a puppy to grow into a well balanced adult. All animals need regular vet exams. Some of these dogs suffer from major illness and carry worms or are heartworm positive. I wouldn't want a puppy from those conditions!

Please do not buy puppies from pet stores! Adopt or select a good breeder. Talk to a trainer or a local breed club to help you find your new pet.

This is how the parents of those cute little puppies you see in Petstores "live" or more like SURVIVE! PLEASE do not contribute to their suffering by purchasing from Petstores. I am sure you feel as though "you are saving one" but this only puts money in this type of monsters hands and allows these poor Dogs to continue to suffer.

If you think Dogs want to live like this please think Again!

Dogs are living breathing creatures with feelings just like you and I, to chain them up outside all alone is very cruel and inhumane. Please bring your Dog inside with you to be loved and treated as a true member of your Family, they will reward you 100 times over with their love and devotion.

To learn why we spay & neuter
please click on the link below. Just think of all the lives that can be saved if we all work together...please spay/neuter your Pets.

If you are thinking of purchasing that cute little Puppy from a Petstore please take a minute to watch this video showing where they come from and how their Parent's are "living" and trying to survive!
Thank you for NOT supporting this cruelty.

This video is in memory of Fozzie Bear, he is only one of the many who have suffered at the hands of a Puppy-millers GREED!

It runs with Windows Media Player

If you need to rehome one of your beloved Family members or if you are helping to pull or transport animals to groups, please take the time to research where you may be putting them, just as with anything else not all “Rescue or shelters” are the same, you need to check them out very well before ever placing your Pets with them or even before adopting from one. Anyone taking in your Dog, Cat or any other Pet should allow you to see where and how they will be living while awaiting a future hopefully forever home, if they will not, please RUN with your Pet as you may be placing them in a horrible place where they will suffer like the ones in this video below are still to this day suffering because the Grand Jury decided this is not a criminal act;

In August of 2006, the Ulster County Sheriff's Office (the "Sheriff") and the Ulster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (the "SPCA"), working together, investigated an animal cruelty complaint that resulted in the seizure of 56 dogs and 29 cats from the home of Bruce E. Van Bramer, located at 200 Potter Hill Road in the Town of Ulster.

The original complaint was made by the late Suellyn McGreevy, a professional pet groomer, who had read about Van Bramer's "animal hospice" in the local paper and had volunteered her time to groom some of the dogs purportedly being cared for by Van Bramer.

Some of Ms. McGreevy's more telling and compelling statements are as follows:

Van Bramer "advised me that he has a small female Schitzu named Kristie who was so matted that she couldn't pass feces and that it had caused her vulva to become impacted with feces leaving her in constant pain and screaming to touch." Later, after McGreevy attempted to groom Kristie, who was in obvious pain, "he [Van Bramer] then put his right index finger inside the dog's vulva and scooped out clumps of dried feces and puss while the dog yelped."
"He stated that he had some dogs so matted they couldn't walk, that he had seen some maggots on a couple of the dogs"
"He also advised me that over 20 dogs had died in the last month from various illnesses and from the kennel cough."
"He also showed me a Dalmatian tied to the side porch which had protruding ribs and spinal bones. The dog had a bad cough, and appeared to be having difficulty standing up."
"He then brought out "Bentley, a male Bichon Frise who was matted from head to tow (sic). He had blood on his right and left rear flank. He had feces caked into his long hair around is face and eyes. He also had an unknown substance on his skin which appeared to be a mixture of dried blood and feces."

Dedicated to the poor Dogs who suffered at the hands of Michael Vick!

From the Michael Vick indictment;
"In or about March of 2003, PEACE, after consulting with VICK about the losing female pit bull's condition, executed the losing dog by wetting the dog down with water and electrocuting the animal.”

"In or about April 2007, PEACE, PHILLIPS, and VICK executed approximately 8 dogs that did not perform well in "testing" sessions at 1915 Moonlight Road by various methods, including hanging, drowning, and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground ."

In or about March of 2003, "Bad Newz Kennels," represented by PEACE, VICK and others unknown to the Grand Jury, lost the purse. The "Bad Newz Kennels" female pit bull jumped out of the ring and "scratched" the fight.
Following an agreement to allow a rematch between the dogs, "Cleo" beat the "Bad Newz Kennels"' female pit bull .
In or about March of 2003, PEACE executed the losing dog by shooting it with a Pistol.

This poem by Arlene Pace is dedicated to all of you who have opened your hearts to these wonderful, loving and very deserving Dogs.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Terry Robertson ~ Majesty Rottweiler Rescue

~ Rescued Dog ~

by Arlene Pace

Once I was a lonely dog, just looking for a home.

I had no place to go, no one to call my own.

I wandered up and down the streets, in rain, in heat and snow.

I ate whatever I could find, I was always on the go.

My skin would itch, my feet were sore, my body ached with pain.

And no one stopped to give a pat or to gently say my name.

I never saw a loving glance, I was always on the run,

for people thought that hurting me was really lots of fun.

And then one day I heard a voice so gentle, kind and sweet,

And arms so soft reached down to me and took me off my feet.

"No one again will hurt you was whispered in my ear."

"You'll have a home to call your own where you will know no fear"

"You will be dry, you will be warm, you'll have enough to eat."

"And rest assured that when you sleep, your dreams will all be sweet."

I was afraid I must admit, I've lived so long in fear.

I can't remember when I let a human come so near.

And as she tended to my wounds and bathed and brushed my fur,

she told me about the rescue group and what it meant to her.

She said, "We are a circle, a line that never ends".

"And in the center there is you protected by new friends".

"And all around you are the ones that check the pounds,

And those that share their home after you've been found"

"And all the other folk are searching near and far.

"To find the perfect home for you, where you can be a star".

She said, "There is a family, that's waiting patiently,

and pretty soon we'll find them, just you wait and see".

"And then they'll join our circle they'll help to make it grow,

so there'll be more room for more like you who have no place to go".

I waited very patiently, the day they came and went,

today's the day I thought, my Family will be sent.

Then just when I began to think it wasn't meant to be,

there were people standing there just gazing down at me.

I knew them in a heartbeat, I could tell they felt it too.

They said, "We have been waiting for a special Dog like you.

Now every night I say a prayer to all the Gods that be.

"Thank you for the life I live and all you've given me,

but most of all protect the Dogs in the pound and on the street,

and send a Rescue Person to lift them off their feet".

Arlene Pace September 18, 1998

Holt has been Adopted

by a WONDERFUL couple and has been renamed Holt. Holt is very loved and very happy, his new Family love him dearly and would not EVER think of parting with him for any reason.

Below is a message I received from Holt’s forever Mom today, I would like to put it here to help educate anyone who may be thinking of breeding that sweet Dog of yours without thinking of just what that may mean for the many Puppy’s and Dog’s who will come from that one mating!!
Holt had his surgery, we have put a picture of Holt here for anyone who would like to see exactly what bilateral enucleation looks like 24 hrs. post surgery. If this message helps to save one Dog from going through what Holt has had to endure, it will have been very well worth the effort.

"Think occasionally of the suffering of which you spare yourself the sight" ~ Albert Schweitzer

From Holts FOREVER Mom

I had a serious moment of anger this afternoon, and I'd like to share it with you in the hopes that you all will understand what brought on my "flash". Holt is a wonderful dog - but he is a dog who was dumped because he was blind. This isn't a COE breeder's dog - this is the result of a Back Yard Breeder - this is two people breeding dogs through an ad in the newspaper or with the neighbor's dog because puppies would be so cute, or the kids need to see life, or they thought they could make a few bucks...whatever crazy excuse people use. No genetic history, no health history - just puppies, and when they aren't perfect, they get put out of a car and left to fend for themselves.

Holt was lucky - he was found by a compassionate soul who rescued him, contacted someone else, and word went out there was a dog in need...he was accepted into Majesty Rottweiler Rescue and found a wonderful loving home even though the cards stacked against him - but this whole scenario could have been much different. When Holt was initially found, a group of people had gathered around him because of his blindness, he was walking in zigzags which scared this group and everyone but one man left. This man worked at the hospital close to where Holt was found and went back to the ER, got a piece of i.v. tubing, and made a collar of sorts then lured Holt into his car. There is no doubt in my mind that had this man not stepped up to help, animal control would have been called and Holt would have been on the metal table the next morning because he was deemed as unadoptable, either by virtue of his breed or his blindness.

I strongly believe in rescue - I don't have a COE dog - I barely have any that qualify as Rottweiler’s... without indiscriminate breeding, there would be no need for rescue. The ONLY thing that is going to make a difference is education, and we can all do our part there - volunteer at your shelter on spay/neuter days, talk with your neighbors, your family, your friends, so many people just don't know the staggering figures of overpopulation. They know there are strays, but I believe we can make a difference by helping people understand what a serious, serious problem overpopulation and breeding for all of the wrong reasons is.It is the Holt’s of the world who pay the ultimate price for the selfishness of humans.

Thankfully, Holt is well and safe and in a happy home tonight, he will never know; wandering the streets, hunger, sickness and the harshness of the winter, and he will NEVER feel the cold steel table under him at the shelter. But unfortunately, there's a very good chance that his littermates will or already have, because they are predisposed to congenital glaucoma as well. I have to wonder - what has happened to them?

I'd like to thank everyone involved in the rescue of these magnificent canines. I cannot imagine our life without our beloved breed - our household would not be complete - but I dream of a day free from phone calls or emails about one more that has been abandoned, because people finally wised up and quit trying to make a quick buck or show the beauty of life to the children...a day when rescue just won't be necessary because we, the evolved species, have evolved enough to be responsible.
Thank you so much to everyone who has kept Holt in your thoughts and since meeting him - he is truly a gem! I just know that he is going to be one great ambassador for the breed!

Who We Are

We are a 501c3 non profit organization and do rescue from within our homes, we have been very successful at matching many homeless Rottie's with wonderful Family's who have opened their hearts to these Beautiful but sometimes misunderstood Rottweiler's.

We foster all our Dog's in our homes where they are loved, socialized and treated as any Family member would be, we feel this makes for a much smoother adjustment when going into their forever homes.

When sending your applications, please keep in mind that we are volunteers who do also have other responsibilities, and will respond as quickly as possible. We thank you for your patience.

Majesty Rottweiler Rescue is dedicated to helping Rottweiler's! It is our hope, to help educate the public about responsible dog "ownership" and place homeless Rottweiler's with new loving families, who consider them as a member of their Family!! We are always happy to have new members with us who love and care for the Rottweiler as we do. If you are concerned about the welfare of this exceptional breed and wish to be part of a rescue then please join us in our efforts to help the most loyal, faithful and misunderstood breed...The Rottweiler!

The way we got started

Brutus was a 2 year old Rottweiler, living in Staten Island NY with a couple for two years very happily, then they had a two legged Baby. After having this Gorgeous Boy since he was a small puppy, having a private trainer for him and treating him as their Baby, they decided to get rid of him, "just in case, he may do something to the new Baby". Brutus was living outside for the last 9 months of his stay with them. Krissie heard about him and frantically posted his sad story every place she could think of. She found Terry with the help of a special person in Texas, and the next day Brutus went to live in his Forever Happy Home. Brutus is the reason Majesty became a Rescue. BTW, Brutus has been around MANY small Children, and is wonderful with them. Rottweiler's are wonderful Dogs and should, at the very least, be given a chance!!

Majesty's Brutus !
