Do You Know About Amazon.Smile - an automatic way for you to support Kootenai Pets for Life every time you shop at Amazon at no cost to you.

Instead of going to Amazon.com go to https://smile.amazon.com You'll find the exact same prices, selection and convenience of shopping at Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to Kootenai Pets for Life.

You use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile. Your shopping cart, Wish List, and other account settings are also the same but do remember to sign in a smile.amazon.com.

On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select a charitable organization (Kootenai Pets for Life) to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping. Amazon remembers your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation.

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the purchase price from your eligible AmazonSmile purchases. The purchase price is the amount paid for the item minus any rebates and excluding shipping & handling, gift-wrapping fees, taxes, or service charges.

Adopting A Friend

We always have pets available for adoption.  If you don't see a photo of the dog or cat you are looking for, please stop by the Shelter or give us a call as it is difficult to be up to the minute with photos.  We are all volunteers and many of us have full time jobs besides volunteering at KPFL.

The following links will help you with the adoption process.

Who We Are

Kootenai Pets for Life was started in 2001 by a group of concerned citizens to provide a humane, no kill Shelter for the stray and abandoned pet population of the Libby/Troy area.  It is a non-profit, all volunteer organization providing shelter, assisting our community with spay and neuter, foster care, veterinary assistance and education.

From our beginning in 2001  we have adopted out over 3,062 pets.  Each cat or dog that comes into our Shelter is spayed or neutered and up to date on shots before being released for adoption

The cumulative total for spay & neuters facilitated by KPFL from 2001 is over the 7,000 mark.  We continually work on the spay/neuter program using facilities in Libby, Kalispell and Bonners Ferry.

Kootenai Pets for Life encourages everyone to take their pets to their veterinarian and have them spayed or neutered and to have their vaccinations up to date.

If you are unable to do this KPFL, with some financial assistance from the County, is still actively offering a spay/neuter program. If you need help to spay or neuter your pet call 293-kpfl (5735) or if you can help financially mail your check to KPFL, Box 1454, Libby, MT 59923.

We have tax exempt status which means contributions made to Kootenai Pets for Life are deductible as charitable contributions on your Federal and State Income Tax returns (subject to rules and limitations the IRS puts on contributions.
