SOUTH HAMILTON ANIMAL ALLIANCE
We are a small organization whose goals are trapping, neutering and releasing established feral cat colonies, and providing veterinary care and adoption opportunities for stray or abandoned or owner relinquished dogs and cats and small animals. We are the only licensed shelter providing care for both dogs and cats in Hamilton County. We are in the process of applying for 501(3)(c) tax exempt status, as well as working to raise funds to get the program running. If you would like to assist, volunteer, or donate, feel free to contact us by phone, email, or post. Thank you very much.
Who We Are
Jewell Animal Hospital is a small animal practice located in small town Iowa, dedicated to caring for furry family members. Our animals are generously housed indefinitely at the hospital until forever homes are found for them. You can meet the adoptable pets there, and you can donate much needed items there, as well.
Adopting a friend
To adopt one of our homeless huggables, an adoption application must be filled out and approved. A copy of our adoption application is available by email (email@example.com), fax, or on premises. A reasonable adoption fee is charged in order to cover the cost of medical care prior to adoption, as well as to ensure that the adopting family is sincerely interested in the pet's best interest. The adoption fee is non-refundable should the pet be returned to our facilities, as we use the money to help care for other homeless pets. Please call before making a visit, just in case the pet you have interest in has been adopted, or is in a foster home.
Dogs and Puppies: $150 includes spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations, dewormings, flea treatment, heartworm testing for dogs over 6 months of age, and a microchip.
Cats and Kittens: $25 includes spay/neuter surgery, first vaccinations, dewormings, flea treatment, ear mite treatment, feline leukemia/FIV testing.
*Some fees may be higher or lower, depending on the animal, and the amount of medical care needed prior to adoption. All fees are as listed above unless otherwise noted.
** Remember, these fees include surgical fees, vaccines, and dewormings, leukemia and aids testing for cats and kittens, and heartworm testing for dogs over 6 months of age, flea and ear mite treatment. Quite a bargain when you think about it.
