Crystal Coast Pet Rescue is a non-profit all-volunteer organization. We work with national breed clubs and local rescue groups. Our program focuses on rescuing animals from local shelters, getting the purebreds into the purebred rescue network and seeking permanent, loving, responsible homes for all of our rescued animals. A good many of them are pulled from the shelter just before their euthanasia date.
All animals are spayed/neutered, brought up to date on all vaccinations, and heartworm tested prior to placement. We also provide extensive veterinary care when needed. All dogs are groomed and treated for intestinal parasites and fleas. All dogs are temperament tested and evaluated; many are fostered in a home prior to placement.
We have helped some truly desperate pets find the loving homes they so deserve.
Our mission is three-fold:
*To reduce the euthanasia of unwanted adoptable pets
*To promote positive pet ownership through education about proper pet care, the need for spay and neuter, and the animal welfare issues
*To help the neglected, abused and abandoned animals of Carteret County.
All potential adopters are required to fill out an adoption application. Veterinary and personal references are checked, and a rescue volunteer does a home visit at the potential adoptive home. We go to extra lengths to get to know our dogs and applicants and make the best possible match between the two. Crystal Coast Pet Rescue has the right to deny an application if we feel the home is not suitable for the pet.
We do not operate a shelter facility. All of our pets reside in foster homes where they live and interact with families and other pets.If you have time, space and a little extra love to share, please consider fostering or even adopting a pet in need.
