Who We Are
ARF is a "pack" of dedicated volunteers organized in June, 2010, to improve our community by improving the lives of animals in Jackson County, WV. Membership is open to all who care about animals and who will rise above differences and personalities and work together against pet overpopulation, abuse, and neglect. This non-profit group finds responsible homes for animals; rescue animals; sponsor fund-raising events to support animal welfare and public education; cooperate with local officials and other animal welfare groups whose goals and methods are compatible with our own, and assist Jackson County Animal Shelter by maintaining Petfinder, holding adoptathons, transporting rescued animals, etc.

Exciting News!
The Jackson County Animal Challenge is on! Community support is needed for building an animal welfare fund & new animal shelter!

ARF is one of the groups chosen to participate in this year's Charity Challenge event. Our fundraising efforts will be matched $1 for $1 up to $2000. This year is focusing on animal welfare. Other welfare groups in the county are included with everyone working together to build an on-going Animal Welfare Fund and to get the seed money for a new shelter. The commission has agreed to match up to $50,000 to start the funding for a new shelter! We're doing our best to make this project work!

It's hard to explain all the facets of this project. This is why Jack Hanna is coming in October. On Facebook, please visit, Jackson County Community Foundation Friends for more information.

Come Visit Us
ARF is made up of volunteers at various locations in Jackson County, WV, and occasionally includes out-of-county animal lovers, too, who want to help. Though there is no facility, ARF fosters pets in their homes. We are always looking for additional foster families for our furbabies and additional "hands on deck" to help with fundraising events, etc. We hope that as we grow, we can do more to help the orphan animals of our county. ARF meets the first Tuesday of every month at the Harrison Building at 119 Church Street in Ripley, WV at 6:30 PM. Meetings are informal and friendly and everyone is welcome.
