We are always looking for more great pet foster homes and pet sponsors!
How about letting one of our pups crash on your couch for a bit?
THANK YOU for considering the adoption option! This first step is to fill out our pre-adoption application form. You are not obligated to adopt just because you filled out an application, nor is there a fee associated with applying for adoption. Filling out our application just gives you a jump start on the adoption process.
Animal House Adoption Application Form Online http://free.allforms.mailjol.net/u/a9bb623c.php (copy & paste this web address into your Internet browser)
Our adoption process may seem lengthy but in fact passes fairly quickly. You are not obligated to a pet just for filling out the application but since all of our dogs are in foster homes we don't want to waste your time or the foster home's time if it wouldn't be a good fit. Also, because our dogs move fairly quickly we advise you to submit the application as soon as you see an animal you may be interested in.
We ask that you fill out the form in it's entirety. Please answer every question in detail so that we can have an idea of what you are looking for and if we have an animal that would fit into your lifestyle.
We ask for 3 references, the first reference should be your vet. The next two need to be someone who knows you well, your current pets, and are familiar with your family. If you don't have a vet reference we ask that you provide an additional personal reference.
We then verify all the information you submitted. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. We make a decision based on each animals needs and do not choose applications in the order they are received. We choose what we feel is the best fit for each individual animal.
Not only do we want our rescue animals to find the perfect homes but we want you as an adopter to be happy as well. If you are approved we then set up a home visit where we bring the pet to meet you and your family. If all goes well we then have you sign a contract and pay an adoption fee and you have a new "fur-kid" in the family.
Our adoption fees vary. All incoming funds are used to support not only the animal you are adopting but our other rescue pets as well. Many of our animals come to us sick, injured or with heartworms. These animals are usually with us for much longer and can be expensive to work with. Without the funds the adoption fee produces we would no longer be able to rescue and care for these animals. And through adoption you are no only helping the animal you adopt but you are opening a space for another animal to come into our group.
All monies paid to Animal House Rescue are considered a donation and are NON Refundable.
Note to adopters: Thank you so much for considering adopting your new best friend. But you should be aware of the exciting challenges ahead!
Lassie and Cleo and Rin Tin Tin and Toto don't show up in rescue. We don't get the elegantly coiffed, classically beautiful, completely trained, perfectly behaved dog. We get the leftovers. Dogs that other people have incompetently bred, inadequately socialized, ineffectively "trained," and badly treated.
Many adult rescue dogs have had it. They've been pushed from one lousy situation to another. They've never had proper veterinary care, kind and consistent training, or sufficient company. They've lived outside, in a crate, or in the basement. They're scared, depressed and anxious. Some are angry. Some are sick. Some have given up.
But we are Rescue and we don't give up. We never give up on a dog. We know that a dog is a living being, with a spirit and a heart and feelings. Our dogs are not commodities, things, or garbage. They are part of sacred creation and they deserve as much love and care and respect as the next Westminster champion.
So please, please don't come to rescue in the hopes of getting a "bargain," or indeed of "getting" anything. Come to Rescue to give, to love, to save a life — and to mend your own spirit. For Rescue will reward you in ways you never thought possible. I can promise you this — a rescue dog will make you a better person.

We are a small group comprised of animal lovers and have all been independently rescuing for years in one form or another. We have been blessed to all connect through one dog or another and now work together to save even more unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. All of the pets are fostered in homes.
We pour our heart and souls into helping our rescue animals in any way we can. We keep them in our homes and treat them as though they are ours until they find that forever home they deserve.
We treat them for parasites, illnesses, we spay and neuter them, we clean them, give them preventative for fleas and heart worms, we work with them on house and crate training, we socialize them to new situations such as children, car rides, walking on lead, other dogs and cats, sometimes we have to teach them what love and kindness is as they have never known either of those things, we try to make them as happy and healthy and as adoptable as they can ever be.
We all work full time jobs, many of us have family and friends, some are attending school. This is a major part of our lives, by choice, it's something each and every one of us has a passion to do, however we hope and pray that one day there will no longer be overpopulation of pets and we will not be needed any longer. Until then, we will continue to save one animal at a time and give them everything we have until they move on to their forever home and the next part of their life.
