Formed in 1977, the Marshall County Animal Rescue has earned two National Awards. We were selected by the Humane Society of the United States as the national Humane Education Achievement Award winners, and recognized nationally by Paws to Recycle Programs in the "Most Community Support" category.

Who We Are

The Marshall County Animal Rescue League consists of a small group of dedicated individuals who through enthusiasm and commitment have turned an "unsheltered" county into a county that has an outstanding shelter program. Our Humane Society is contracted by the Marshall County Commission to oversee animal shelter operations. We work continually to provide progressive programs for the betterment of the shelter and the animals. The Marshall County Animal Rescue League meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Commission Room of the Marshall County Court House located on 7th street in Moundsville. Please join us.

Adopting a friend

We require that all interested individuals complete an adoption application. Completion of the application helps us to ensure the "right match" for your satisfaction and for the happiness of the animal.

Adoption fees:
Dogs and puppies - $100.00
Cats and kittens - $85.00

We accept cash or checks.

Quality adoptions are made possible by providing all vaccinations, worming, and flea prevention to both cats and dogs. Testing for feline leukemia and canine heartworm (if old enough) is also done before adoption. Rabies vaccination is given to animals that are 4 months of age or older. EVERY animal is spayed or neutered before leaving the shelter For adoption applications please visit our animal shelter page. Marshall County Animal Shelter

Any pet that has been adopted and does not work out in the new home should be returned to the Marshall County Animal shelter. We feel responsibility for the pets well-being and your satisfaction.
