Our Mission

The Eau Claire County Humane Association (ECCHA) is a non-profit organization that cares for unwanted and abandoned animals in Eau Claire County. The mission of the Eau Claire County Humane Association
is to be a voice for all animals by providing education, resources and support for the community, compassionate care for homeless animals until they can be placed in forever homes, and coordination with other organizations to promote animal welfare.

How to Adopt

Deciding to bring a pet into your home means a major change in lifestyle. Pet adoption should be a thoroughly considered decision and not a spur of the moment idea; especially considering this pet will be a part of your family up to the next 10 to 20 years. Therefore, it is imperative to consider the "for better and for worse" aspects of adoption before making any decisions.

Adopt a Dog

It's no secret that having a canine comrade can bring immeasurable amounts of love and joy to your life. Now that you have decided to bring a four-legged friend into your home, what type of dog is right for you? Make sure you consider all the possibilities before selecting a pet that will be with you for a lifetime. And remember, we are always getting new dogs into the shelter so check back often for your perfect match.

Adopt a Cat

Strong and independent or cuddly and playful, no matter your preference in feline fellowship, we have the cat to fit you. Each cat we take in has a unique personality and special needs so we encourage everyone to stop in and visit with our pets to see which one(s) are ideal for you and your lifestyle. And remember, we are always receiving new cats into the humane association so be sure to check often.

Adopt Other Animals

If you are considering adding a pet to your family other than a cat or dog, check out the humane association. The ECCHA takes in all kinds of pets that need a temporary home. As with any pet, be certain you are ready for the time, commitment, and financial needs each pet will need.
