VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE: New low cost spay/neuter program for public owned pit bulls or pit bull mixes. This new program is to help decrease the number of unwanted pit bulls in the Valley. Pit Bulls and Pit Bull Mixes are overrunning local shelters and rescues. Because of this many of these wonderful dogs are euthanized. Spaying and neutering will not only cut back on the unwanted population but it will also help the dogs live healthier, happier lives. Plus It is a proven fact that spayed and neutered dogs, of any breed, are less likely to have behavior (aggression) problems. If you or someone you know is interested in having their dog(s) spayed or neutered please contact Tara at 920-470-9987 for more information.
Bully Friends Pit Bull Rescue is a small rescue located Appleton Wisconsin. Our goal is to educate the public and rescue abused and abandoned pit bulls and pit bull mixes. All the dogs that enter our rescue undergo a behavioral assessment. We expose the dogs to different situations and enviornments to see how he or she reacts. This helps us determine the stability of the dog's temperament and personality. It also lets us know if the dog needs more socializing and/or training in any areas. We take pride in adopting out well socialized dogs of all ages! We are here to improve the breed's image, not harm it further. Before our dogs go to new homes they are vaccinated, de-wormed, heartworm tested (if old enough), receive a microhip, and are altered.
To adopt a dog from Bully Friends Pit Bull Rescue you need to meet the dog you are interested in, fill out an application and talk with us! We like to get to know the people interested in our dogs. We prefer adopting to Wisconsin residents only. however we may make exceptions for surrounding states. On the application you need to list two non-related references, one related reference, a veterinary reference, and your landlord's information (if you do not own your home). Everyone who lives in the household will need to come visit the dog you are interested. We want to make sure the whole family is on board with the thought of getting a new family member. If your application is approved we set up a day and time for you to pick up your new companion! At that time we will go over veterinary records. micorchip information and the signing of the contract. If at any time you can no longer keep your adopted dog he or she must be returned to the rescue (no questions asked) so another proper home can be found for that particular dog.
Please contact us by email if you would like to meet any of the available dogs!
