Who We Are

The South Wood County Humane Society's is a community non-profit animal care organization. Our mission is to build a stronger bond between people and their pets through education and adoption with the overall goal of promoting the spaying and neutering of animals to help reduce pet overpopulation.

Adopting a friend

Dog Adoption Information: All dog adoptions include spaying or neutering; a flea & tick bath; a rabies vaccination (most dogs, if not your adoption fee will be less), a durmume vaccination for distemper/parvo; a bordatella vaccination; a free local veterinarian visit, free obedience classes, microchipping, & a de-worming. Adoption Fee: $200.00 for small breeds and puppies, $175.00 for adults and medium/large breeds. Dogs over five years or adopters over 55 years receive $20.00 off.

Cat Adoption Information: All cat adoptions include spaying or neutering; a free local veterinarian visit; a flea & tick bath; a felo-vax 4 vacccine; microchipping; & a de-worming. Adoption Fee: $125.00 for kittens, $100 for cats over six months. Cats over five are FREE. Life Companion cats: buy one get one free.
