About Us

Adopting A Friend

Adoption is for the lifetime of the cat

We adopt cats into homes with the expectation that the adopter will keep the cat/kitten for the lifetime of the animal. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can interfere with the ability to meet this expectation; therefore we have an unconditional return policy with no time limit. If a cat/kitten is returned within two weeks of the date on the signed adoption contract, we will refund 100% of your paid adoption fee. After that time, refunds are at our discretion and may be given based on circumstances of the return.

Health information

All cats/kittens adopted out by Fourwhitepaws have been spayed or neutered. They have also received their first FVRCP vaccine (and possibly their follow-up booster depending on how long they have been in foster care), and have been given dewormer and flea treatment. Adult cats and kittens are combo tested for FeLV and FIV. Even though most of our cats and kittens are examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption, we highly recommend you make your first vet appointment within two weeks after adoption. Since many of the cats we adopt out have been rescued, we may not have any prior health history information. We will provide any health information we have including vaccination records and the results of any tests given with the cat/kitten upon adoption.

Adoption process

The cats/kittens listed may be living in different locations depending on which foster home they reside in. Please email or call the number with the listing to see if the cat/kitten is still available and to arrange to meet in person. Cats/kittens are adopted out on a first come, first serve basis, which means if someone is approved and visits the cat/kitten before you, they may get first choice to adopt. If you have an approved application and have visited the cat/kitten in person and want to adopt but for some reason the cat/kitten is not ready to be released, the foster person will hold the cat/kitten for you until the cat/kitten is ready to go to your home.

If you are interested in adopting one of our cats or kittens, please complete and submit an adoption application with your inquiry. Incomplete applications will delay the process. Once the information on the adoption application is verified you can schedule a time to come and visit the cat/kitten in it’s foster home. To ensure the best chance of a good match between the cat/kitten and the adopter, we check references and may require a home visit; this process can sometimes make same day adoptions not possible. Because of the commitment required in caring for a cat's needs, we only adopt to individuals 18 years of age or older.

Adoption fees

The adoption fee, unless otherwise noted, is $100 for adult cats and $100-$125 for kittens. The adoption fee is an attempt to cover the veterinary services provided, however often these expenses are more than the adoption fee collected. We always appreciate donations in excess of the adoption fee to cover these additional expenses. Fourwhitepaws is a non-profit cat rescue organization, which means that we do not profit on adopting cats out, we only desire to cover our expenses.

Who We Are

Fourwhitepaws is a small cat rescue organization created to help find homes for homeless cats. unfortunately, we are not large enough to be able to take surrendered cats from those looking to rehome cats.

Thank you for taking a look at our available cats.
