Foster Homes

We are trying to set up a network of foster homes. Anyone interested please email us. You can be a vital part of this rescue by offering up a small amount of space to a cat in need. Each foster home frees up a space at the main rescue location for a new cat to be saved from a kill shelter. We are also looking for volunteers to spend time with the cats and help groom, clean etc at our University District Petco location.

Who We Are

SPHR is a 501(c)(3) organization run by volunteers. Our mission is to take in shelter cats in need of rescue, and occasionally owner surrendered cats, and care for them until they can be placed into forever homes.

All cats are up to date on vet work and healthy (unless otherwise stated). We strive to place animals in a home where they will be loved and cared for forever. Our commitment to each animal does not end when you walk out the door. We are available to help out in any way possible for the entire time you own your new cat. We are always willing to give advice on all things cat related. Please email us or go to our Facebook page to get in touch with us.

Making the Perfect Match

We want each adoption to be a great match, but if this turns out to not be true, the animal can (and must) return to us to be placed in a more fitting home. We are a small rescue, and care deeply for each and every cat that comes through the rescue. We of course want the animal to be happy, but want their new family to be as well, so we are very up front about any issues they may have. We get to know each animal that is in our care, and have had great success pairing people with their new (animal) family members.

Adoption Pre-Approvals

Please email us if you would like to give a wonderful rescue kitty a chance at a new and happy life. If you are interested in finding a Persian, Himalayan, or Exotic Shorthair (or other purebred) please email to inquire even if we do not have exactly what you are looking for. Many cats do not make it on the web, as we have pre-approved adopters on a waiting list. If you fill out an application to join the list, we will contact you when we have a cat that would be a good fit for your household.
