About Us

Adopting A Friend

Steps to starting the adoption process at Pasado’s Safe Haven:

  • View adoptable animals to find one or more who may be a good fit for your family to inquire about in your questionnaire.

  • Fill out an adoption questionnaire at pasadosafehaven.org under "Adopt"/"Process"

  • You can also email us at adoption@pasadosafehaven.org or call us at 360-793-9393 x 110 to receive the adoption questionnaire.

  • The Adoption Coordinator will contact and help you find an animal who might be a good fit for your home. Once your potential match is found you’ll schedule a meet and greet at our sanctuary, located in Monroe, WA.

Who We Are

Pasado’s Safe Haven was founded in 1997 in honor of “Pasado“, a beloved donkey who was killed by three teenage boys.  Located on 85 acres in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains, we are a non-profit on a mission to end animal cruelty.

In addition to investigating animal cruelty crimes and providing sanctuary and rehabilitation to animals who have suffered from abuse and neglect, we also advocate for better laws to protect animals and work to educate the public about how they can help end animal suffering.  Through our uniquely comprehensive programs, we are able to help thousands of animals every year and spread a message of compassion to countless people.

With every animal who gets adopted to a loving home, we are able to rescue more who have yet to know safe haven. If you would like to give a deserving animal a warm, safe home, fill out an adoption questionnaire at pasadosafehaven.org today!

Come Visit Us

  • If you would like to visit an animal at our sanctuary, please schedule a meet and greet with our Adoption Coordinator by filling out an adoption questionnaire at pasadosafehaven.org under "Adopt"/"Process"

  • All animal meet and greets are by appointment due to our small staff and sanctuary-environment. A scheduled meet and greet allows potential adopters to have a personalized visit with the animal(s) they are interested in and the caregiver of that animal.

  • Pasado's Safe Haven has public tours quarterly.  Please visit us by clicking on the tour date you would like to attend, and registering.  Please register by visiting our event page at pasadosafehaven.org.

  • If you are interested in spaying or neutering your current animal, view our upcoming low-cost spay and neuter events at pasadosafehave.org/events
