Other Departments
All potential adopters must fill out an adoption application which is evaluated and approved by staff adoption counselors. If you are interested in one of our Petfinder pets, an application (see below) can be printed and brought to the shelter. We cannot report on the status of an individual animal or provide additional details via email; nor can we hold an animal pending a possible visit. We recommend web visitors pick out one or more that you are interested in, write down the tracking number(s) (A------), and visit the shelter to view them in person.

If you are planning to visit to view a pet in person, print a copy of the pet's profile page, and bring it with you to help us serve you.

adoption application. (pdf format)

All adopters sign a contract agreeing to:

Care for the pet for its lifetime, and not abandon it but find a suitable home or bring it back to The Humane Society if they cannot keep it.

Spay or neuter the animal (if not already done)

Provide the pet with shelter, food, water, health care, companionship and training.

Have the permission of their landlord to have a pet.
