About Us

Adopting A Friend

CARE has a thorough and rigorous adoption process in place to assure that we match our adoptable dogs and puppies with the right home for their particular needs.  Having them in our homes helps us to learn about each dog and talk with our vets and behaviorists about the atmosphere that will best help them to prosper.

CARE prefers, and in many cases requires, homes with fenced yards.  In most instances we do not adopt to homes with preschool aged children and reserve the right to deny an adoption if we feel that any member, human or animal, of a household would not be a good fit for our animal.  Our animal's safety and well being are our main concern, and we are able, with patience, to find a perfect home for every dog.

Our application is not online.  In most cases we will require that you come to meet our dogs before you apply for them.  Adding a furry family member is much more complicated than taking in a dog whose picture you fall in love with.  If you reside out of state and travel to our area is cumbersome, we may be able to pre-approve you prior to you making the trip to see us.  We NEVER send a dog home from an adoption stand.  A veterinary reference check and home visit are a part of every adoption process.

Who We Are

CARE is an organization comprised totally of volunteers who donate time, talents and energy to placing homeless and abandoned dogs in loving forever homes.  Our volunteers are a diverse group of people with many different skill sets who come together to form a very successful collective.  We welcome volunteers 18 years and over to help at our adoption events and lend their talents to other areas such as grant writing, publicity, fundraising, transport and the like.  Please let us know if you have an interest in volunteering with CARE.
