We welcome donations of towels, blankets, and food of all types. You may drop these off during open hours, or leave on the front step of the facility before or after open hours.
Many dogs who are brought to us are housetrained. They welcome visitors every day who will take them out walking so they can relieve themselves. If you would like to donate an hour or so once a week or once a month, we welcome your presence. Please email us for further information.
Want to be a part of the efforts to assist the animals in care at the CCAC? Join in with the "Friends of Animal Control, Campbell County" (a non-profit, 501C3) as we continue to help the dogs and cats incarcerated at the CCAC! Contact us by email at email@example.com. Check out our new website at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
We invite visitors to come and spend time with the dogs and cats!
All juvenile pets adopted from this facility must be spay/neutered by the time they are six months of age. If the pets are adults at the time of adoption, an appointment will be set up for you at the South Central Spay/Neuter Clinic which is just one mile from the facility.
Adoption fees: none at this time for animals on-site. We welcome donations from adopters to cover costs of vaccines and deworming, which are available only through donated funds and not through the County of Campbell.
Animals listed as "foster" are in foster homes with volunteer foster families. Adoption fees do apply for these pets.
Dogs or cats may be transferred to a local rescue for adoption, adopted directly from the CCAC, or transferred to out-of-state facilities for placement.
The Campbell County Animal Shelter is funded and operated by the County of Campbell, under the direction of the Public Safety Division. There are four full-time and one part-time Animal Control Officers who work at the facility and across Campbell County answering calls for assistance.
Email us for an application to adopt animals either at the facility or off-site or for information about the pets you see listed on this site. Go to FOACinfo@gmail.com. We are rescue-friendly, and work through local groups to place animals with reputable rescues in the NE United States, as well as across Virginia.
