The Bull Terrier Rescue of Virginia rescues Bull Terriers all up and down the East Coast. As you can imagine, doing so can be expensive. To help defray our costs we require a minimum $400 adoption donation for each Bull Terrier we place. All proceeds go back into the BTRVA's rescue effort so that we may continue helping Bull Terriers in need.
If you think you would like to Adopt an English Bull Terrier, please visit our website at www.btrva.org and click on the ADOPT tab to fill out our online inquiry form.
The Bull Terrier Rescue of Virginia is located in the Northern Virginia area, with boosters in several different states. The BTRVA was formed in 2010 and is a non-profit tax exempt 501(c)3 organization. Our mission is to rescue abused, abandoned, homeless or unwanted Bull Terriers, by bringing them together with new adoptive families. We provide care and permanent placement and promote education on the breed to new owners. We require an adoption donation of no less than $400 per Bull Terrier we place. This will be discussed with you in depth before any commitment from either party is made.
We have a screening process that we follow thoroughly. The entire process normally takes approximately 30 days, sometimes less. The following bulleted items are the steps that must be taken in order to adopt a dog from our rescue:
Please remember that adopting a Bull Terrier is a SERIOUS commitment. Your newly adopted Bull Terrier could take several weeks or several months to settle into their new environment. They cost money and require lots of attention and love. Please seriously consider the decision you make when you adopt. Sadly, some Bull Terriers are returned to our rescue because folks did not think thoroughly enough about adopting a dog. So that the adoption experience is a positive and lasting one for you, your family and your Bull Terrier, the BTRVA strongly encourages you to research this breed and plan to participate in a training course with your new dog.
It is the BTRVA’s responsibility to place the Bull Terriers we rescue into an environment compatible with their needs and to ensure adoptions are in the best interest of the dogs and the adoptive families. As such, please answer all questions carefully and completely on our Inquiry form.
Thank you for your interest. The Bull Terrier Rescue of Virginia will be looking forward to working with you and your family.
