Our primary goal is to increase animal adoptions by expanding visitation and maximizing visibility through attractive design, in a setting where prospective pet owners visit dogs in an outdoor courtyard and cats in the community room. Through partnerships with local animal groups and volunteers, we strive to increase adoptions and return pets to their owners.
We also serve as a recreation destination where people can volunteer to walk the dogs, care for the cats or just visit with the animals.
The adoption and care center is located on five acres at 480 Cinnabar Road, adjacent to the former animal shelter.
Adoption costs include a $10 adoption fee and pre-payment for spay/neuter:
All animals adopted from the center must be altered within 30 days of adoption. Puppies and kittens must be altered by the time they reach 6 months. All dogs and cats must be properly vaccinated for rabies. A dog tag must be obtained every year, starting at four months old.
