Come by and see Carla Hall and Melanie Bonham. We will be glad to assist in matching you with one of the wonderful shelter pets suitable for your needs. People have discovered that shelter pets have so much heart, spirit, and love to give, are intelligent and devoted. So often we hear "Got him,/her from the shelter and it's the best pet I've ever had!" We have adopted out dogs, such as "Debbie", a Shepherd/Rottie mix who went to work for our nation as a customs detector dog. Others have gone to work saving lives as search & rescue dogs, helping the disabled as service dogs, and making lives brighter as therapy pets. And, of course, many shelter pets have become beloved companions to families everywhere. Come meet the next furry friend to whom you would like to give a loving, caring, responsible, forever home.

Who We Are

The Joshua Animal Care & Control facility was built in 2003 in the heart of historic downtown Joshua. Designed with an exterior of the architectual style of an old-fashioned railroad depot, it is one of the first in a planned series of new and restored buildings that will comprise the revitalized town square district. Bright and cheery, the shelter operation is structured so pets are kept and cared for in a manner that promotes good health and socialization. Making them excellent adoption candidates. The facility is located at the corner of 917 W & Santa Fe Rd, in Joshua, TX .

Joshua Animal Care and Control provides services to the citizens in the corporate city limits of Joshua. While we are unable to provide services outside the corporate city limits of Joshua. If you have found an animal with a Joshua City license, please contact the shelter. If you have lost your pet, call the shelter at least every 72 hours. It is highly recommended that you come to the shelter personally to check for your pet, as individuals often have different ways of describing animals.

If you live in an area that does not offer animal control in-take services, you may inquire with the Humane Society of North Texas, at 1840 East Lancaster Street in Fort Worth, Texas. At 817-332-5907.

Donations are always needed for the animals. Money of course is always needed to buy medicines for them. You may make a direct donation to Joshua Animal Clinic. Just let them know when you go in to put it on the animal shelter account.

Things always needed are towels, blankets, litter boxes, cat litter, food and water bowls, laundry soap, toys, crates, puppy /kitten formula, bottles, bleach, Mr. Clean, pine sol, mop heads and anything else animal related or used for cleaning.

These things keep our facility running smoothly. There is no gift too small. It all adds up to make a big difference in the lives of our animals. Thank you!

Donate a Bed

Please consider donating a bed because "hammock style" dog or cat beds would be great for our animal care facility. We have found these beds to be sanitary, comfortable and long lasting which will contribute to the health and happiness of our four legged friends.
