The City of Garland requires that all dogs, cats, and certain other types of pets be registered with the city. Once registered, your pets must wear this registration tag at all times to comply with local ordinances. The fees for these registration tags vary depending on age and sterilization status. To obtain a city registration tag for your pet, you must first have a current rabies vaccination. Once you have vaccinated your pet, you may then either mail your registration to us or come to our office and register your pet in person. If you decide to come to the office, there is no need to bring your pet. Simply bring a copy of your pet's current rabies vaccination certificate and the appropriate funds to pay for their registration. If you prefer to mail your registration, please include a self addressed stamped envelope, you pet's current rabies certificate, and a check or money order for the appropriate funds to the address below. One final note, to obtain a 3-year license you must first have a 3-year rabies vaccination. Some pets are not eligible for a 3-year vaccination due to age or previous vaccination history.
