Athenas Angels Rescue is formed for the lawful purpose(s) of a charitable organization; focusing on relief of distressed animals by assuming
the care & financial responsibilities of ill/injured pets to lessen the burden on government resources.
Adoption Policy

LOCAL ADOPTIONS:
Adoption Application must be COMPLETELY filled out & reviewed by adoption coordinator
Reference & Veterinary records will be verified
If APPROVED - a meet and greet will be scheduled with the adoptive family & rescue of interest; if the adoptive family has dogs a second meet & greet MUST be done prior to scheduling a sleep over trial.
Sleepover trial will ONLY be scheduled if one (or both) meet & greets go well.
A 1 week sleepover trial is REQUIRED prior to finalizing an adoption. This period will allow the adoptive family and rescue of interest some time to get to know each other to ensure it is a good fit for both sides. If an adoptive family would like to extend the sleepover before finalizing the adoption they are REQUIRED to inform an adoption coordinator of an extension period.
*30% of the adoption fee is REQUIRED as a non-refundable deposit when scheduling a sleepover trial - this deposit will go towards the adoption fee, remaining fee will be due upon finalization of adoption.
Finalizing the adoption all medical records will be emailed over.
