The rescue portion of Victoria TNR has closed, but we are still doing TNR and have plenty of animals in foster homes that need adopted. Please consider giving one of these cats a loving home.
We're always looking for all volunteers who are dedicated to caring for feral and "loosely owned" cats and kittens in the Victoria area. Please let us know if you would like more information, or if you have a friend we could contact who might be interested. The work involved in running this group is both demanding, emotional, and incredibly rewarding.
We try to match your living situation, needs, and wants in a companion with our most suitable adoptable cats. Our adoption application includes a promise that you will provide a lifetime home for your adopted cat. We want to make sure that you and the cats are in a healthy, happy, loving situation. In the unfortunate event that you should have to surrender a cat that you adopted from us, we want you to return the cat to us so that we can find him or her a new, loving home. Please don't hesitate to contact us with questions about adopting cats from us, or any of our current adoptables.
Victoria TNR is a private, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the health and living conditions of homeless cats through trapping, neutering/spaying, and returning them to volunteer caretakers. This approach of Trap-Neuter-Return is the most effective and only humane method of containing and reducing a growing population of feral and free-roaming cats.
Catch and kill does not work, yet it continues. Animal control agencies have been catching and killing cats for decades in an unsuccessful attempt to reduce the number of feral and stray cats in a given area. Trap-Neuter-Return does work. There are no more kittens, the population stabilizes, and the returned cats’ lives are improved. Behaviors and stress associated with pregnancy and mating such as yowling, roaming and fighting, stop. Not only does Trap-Neuter-Return make good sense, it is also a responsible, humane method of care for outdoor cats and is less expensive than catch and kill approaches.
Come visit us Saturdays from 1-5pm at PetSmart in Victoria to meet some of our adoptables. You might meet your new best friend! Check our Facbook page for more information.
