About Us

We are in constant need of volunteers and fosters as our animals are getting basic care and are often in need of a little extra tender loving care.  We have several different sizes of dogs that need a home to live in until they can find a permanent, furever home. SPSPCA pays all medical costs. We ask that you provide love, food, transportation for your foster to medical appointments and adoptions that are held each Saturday in Lubbock at our facility on South US 87. The South Plains SPCA covers all medical care needed.

We are a close knit, supportive group that will welcome you. For information on fostering or volunteering e-mail foster.spspca@gmail.com, or come by and see us at an adoption event.

The South Plains SPCA accepts all donations of supplies or funds.  Monetary donations help cover the cost of vet care and spay/neuters.  Many of our animals require vet care above and beyond the basic care and your donations help to cover those costs.

We can also use donations of supplies, such as puppy pads, food, collars, leashes, toys, laudry soap, etc.  All supply donations can be dropped off at our office during adoption events or by appointment.  We also have a wish list on Amazon.com.

Adopting A Friend

The South Plains SPCA believes that adopting an animal is a forever decision that should not be taken lightly.  We expect our adopters to be committed to loving our animals for the rest of their lives.

Adoption events are held every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m at 8901 Highway 87, Building 119, Lubbock, TX.  While not all of our animals come every weekend, our volunteers will be more than happy to talk to you about the animals you are interested in.  You can also send an e-mail to adoptions.spspca@gmail.com regarding any of our animals that you are interested in making a forever member of your family.  Meetings can be arranged outside of our Saturday adoption event, usually on Thursday evenings.

We have an adoption application that must be filled our.  Once the application is approved there is a $150.00 adoption fee that covers the dog/cat being spayed or neutered, current vaccinations, heartworm/tick screening, and microchipped.  Indoor homes are preferred.

Who We Are

The South Plains SPCA is a dog rescue located in Lubbock, TX.  Occassionally we do have cats for adoption.  We are a foster based 501(c)(3) rescue that pulls dogs and puppies from area kill shelters, takes in strays after the owners cannot be located, or dogs that have been abandoned.  We are a volunteer run rescue.

South Plains SPCA  promotes animal welfare and educates pet owners. Our extended mission is to prevent animal cruelty in the South Plains through training of certified animal cruelty investigators.

The mission of the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPSPCA) is to promote the highest standards of animal welfare, educate pet owners and prevent animal cruelty on the South Plains.
