We consider applicants for adoption who agree to adhere to our adoption contract rules which require adopters to care for the pets as discussed in the contract. We do have an adoption fee that covers the medical including the vaccinations, preventative medications and spay/neuter. We also fully treat dental, heart worm, worms and any other known medical conditions prior to the adoption of our furkids to the new owner. All requirements are outlined in the application and contract. For example: ENVIRONMENT
Adopter agrees to care for the dog in a humane and responsible manner and to provide it with clean and adequate shelter, food, water, and veterinary care. The dog shall reside indoors, in the adopter’s home, and live as a family member and companion. Furthermore, adopter agrees to have adequate fencing enclose the yard (if applicable). Adequate fencing is defined as a fence that encloses a yard or large area, preventing the dog from going outside such area and preventing other animals, intruders or children from easily gaining entry to such area. An adequate fence does not include a split rail, electric, or invisible fence. At no time is it acceptable for the dog to be chained.
Adult dogs will be placed on heartworm preventative prior to adoption. Any dog adopted as a puppy shall begin heartworm preventative at four (4) months of age when receiving the rabies shot. The dog shall remain on heartworm preventative without laps throughout the entire lifespan of the dog. The dog shall be current and up to date on all vaccinations. Unless directed by a licensed veterinarian for reasons related to the health and welfare of the dog, cosmetic surgery will not be performed under any circumstances, including, but not limited to, tail docking or ear cropping.
The donation is not a fee or sale price, but a request to defer or reimburse rescuer for any and all medical expenses, or any other expenses incurred by the dog or rescuer to consider dog for adoption.
SPAY / NEUTER AGREEMENT (This is a contract of MANDATORY Spay/Neuter as defined herein). All adult dogs will be spayed / neutered prior to adoption.
A rescued puppy shall be spayed / neutered within four (4) months of adoption. Proof of sterilization by the veterinarian must be provided to rescuer. If the health of the dog delays the spay / neuter, the adopter must provide rescuer with a statement from the veterinarian making this determination. The statement must inform as to why a spay/neuter cannot be performed and when it is anticipated to be performed. It is the responsibility of the adopter to ensure that the rescuer has received proof of sterilization or notification of delay. If this agreement is not honored the adopter will acknowledge and agree that the contract has been violated and immediately return the dog to rescuer with no expectation of refund. All adult dogs will be spayed / neutered prior to adoption.
COLLARS AND TAGS
The dog will wear a nylon or leather collar or harness with appropriate tags at all times. It is preferable that the collar have a quick snap type closure. At no time is it acceptable for the dog to be wearing a chain or “choke” collar.
SOAR stands for Simon's Organization for Animal Rights. Simon is a 3 legged hound mix that suffered an at home amputation and at a later time was shot for no reason in the shoulder of one of his good legs. Simon has a very kind soul and loves everyone. We here at SOAR could not help but save Simon. Simon helped us to realize the issues with animal abuse and neglect. SOAR is dedicated to rescuing high kill shelter dogs and street dogs that have been thrown away like trash. All of our dogs are placed in loving foster homes to be socialized, learn how to act in a home and just simply learn what it is like to be a beloved pet and family member. All of our precious fur babies are fully vetted and 100% healthy at the time of adoption. Our mission is to save the world 1 dog at a time. We are always looking for loving foster homes for these displaced fur babies. If you are interested in fostering or adopting one of our awesome dogs please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We are a rescue that is 100% volunteer and comprised of dogs placed in private foster homes. All applicants are required to complete an application prior to being considered for adoption. We will review applications until an adopter has been located. Unfortunately, due to the high volume of applications for certain dogs we may not be able to respond to all applications or voice mails. Please be patient in allowing us the opportunity to review all applications and if you have not been contacted check the website to see if the pet you are interested in has already been adopted. Email is the preferred means of contact as we are volunteers and generally in the field at shelters during business hours. We appreciate your interest in adopting one of our amazing furkids! We look forward to working with you in saving the lives of these deserving babies who were once abused, displaced or disposed of - THANK YOU for your interest in making them a part of your family!!!
