Who We Are

CARE was formed in 2007 by concerned citizens in Meigs County, Tennessee, who are dedicated to saving the lives of abandoned, neglected and mistreated animals in our county. Our county has no shelter and we have no designated facility as of yet. We are a 501c3, not-for-profit organization with the State of Tennessee. Currently we are funded only from donations, fundraisers, and our own pockets. We strive to educate everyone, young and old, on proper pet care and animal welfare. We require a contract that our adopted animals be spayed/neutered by the age of 6 mths and we spay/neuter all animals 6 mths and older in our care prior to adoption. We keep all animals in our care up to date on vaccines and provide vet care and surgeries as needed. Many animals have been neglected or mistreated and it is sometimes very costly. We sponsor a monthly discount spay/neuter clinic and discount animal wellness clinics whenever possible. We post flyers all over the county to let the public know about spay/neuter days, adoption days, and wellness clinics. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue and your interest in our organization.! Happy Petfinding!
