Lewisburg Animal Shelter
We always have plenty of dogs in need of good homes. Please come by to see what we have to offer! We have extended our hours so we are open later most weekdays...see details below! If you are missing a dog or want to inquire about an available dog stop in a see us or give us a call! We are also rescue friendly and more than willing to work with any legitimate rescue organization. However, rescues must coordinate with one of our rescue coordinators in order to pull from our shelter. If you are 501c3 our current pull fee is $10 with a copy of your current 501c3 in our files.
Who We Are
We function as animal control for the city of Lewisburg and Marshall County. We strive to find homes for the dogs that happen to end up here, but our main focus is stray and abandoned animal control. We are a dog only facility and at the current time do not accept or do calls on cats. We have one county ACO officer and one city ACO officer along with a group of unpaid volunteers at the shelter to help facilitate adoptions and returning dogs to owners. We keep adoptable dogs as long as possible but we are a very small facility and do not have much space. We have approved non paid volunteers who work daily in the shelter to help clean, exercise dogs, vaccinate, medicate (under a veterinarians supervision), and network dogs online and to rescues.
The Volunteers appreciate many donations that people bring in and you can help by viewing our "Wish List" posted on our Facebook Page (See our FB link below) and the volunteers website. Currently we are working on raising money to purchase exercise equipment for the dogs to be used in the play yard. If you wish to make tax deductible donations to the Lewisburg Animal Shelter you may do so by sending to: City of Lewisburg 131 East Church Street Lewisburg TN 37091. Donations that are NOT tax deductible which the Shelter Volunteers use to purchase toys and treats for the dogs, pay for vetting that is not covered by the city, and purchase office supplies to market the dogs may be made to Lewisburg Shelter Volunteers 300 Woodside Lewisburg TN 37091. We are NOT a 501c3 volunteer group so your donations are not tax deductible to the volunteers, however we can recommend our local Friends of Animals in Marshall County Humane Association as a way to donate to the animals of our community as a tax free donation if you wish. Their address is PO Box 2571 Lewisburg TN 37091. We are constantly evolving to better the shelter and the community involvement.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please call or email and one of the animal control officers or LAS Volunteers will be glad to make arrangements to assist you at the shelter.
