UPCOMING EVENTS! Our Christmas and Holiday photo fundraiser was a great time. Gene Hutnak is our fantastic photographer and we want to thank Gene and Linda for helping us out for over 20 years! Our Spring photos and photos with the Easter Bunny is just around the corner.
Please check your local shelters for some wonderful pets waiting for a loving home. ADOPT don't SHOP!!
We have taken in quite a few small dogs over the last 6 months but never even posted them online because we had a list of approved families waiting for small dogs. Please feel free to email us any time and tell us what you are interested in adopting. We could send you an application for pre-approval for future animals that come into our care.
Please help make 2017 a meaningful happy year by giving a forever home to the many fur-babies on our adoptable pet page!
Please help us to continue in our work by being a Sponsor. 2011-2016 have been tough years financially - donations are down and calls for help have tripled. Your donation will go a long way in helping a pet in need! You will find a sponsor button next to our beautiful babies that need forever homes. Our charity is not just about helping animals, but also helping families. We have worked with cancer patients, giving them peace and the ability to concentrate on battling their illness because of our promise that their beloved pets will end up in one of our foster homes and not end up in a shelter. We have also helped many families with food and medical care for their pets while they are going through difficult times. Our help allows them the ability to keep their beloved pet with their family while trying to get back on their feet. Thank you to all the wonderful people who have helped us to help companion pets due to your generosity! We couldn't have done it without you
We thank everyone who has contributed to A.D.O.P.T. last year. Your generosity has enabled us to help many furry babies find new homes. All pets are fixed, vaccinated and given medical care before being adopted. Unfortunately this has been an extremely tough year and our funding has been exhausted at this time. We will be holding a dinner fundraiser in the spring to raise some much needed funding.

The volunteers of A.D.O.P.T. and all of our furry friends wish to thank everyone that helped us through the year. We received help in so many ways. Whether you were someone that adopted a new family member, sent a monetary or item donation, or showed up to volunteer your time, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtfulness, generosity and support!
Remember us through your payroll deductions.......our United Way Agency Number is 4818. Every $75 donation will spay a cat or neuter a dog!!! We are in desperate need of monetary donations......Our coffers are really low at this time due to the number of pets that we have helped.
Watch for our pet photos with the Easter Bunny this spring and our pet photos with Santa or Frosty or Rudolph.
Who We Are
Animals Depend On People Too, Inc., a non-profit volunteer organization is a group of animal lovers dedicated to helping stray, abandoned, homeless and injured animals at the Cranston Animal Shelter and throughout the state. Some of us have been involved as volunteers with the Cranston Animal Shelter for the last thirty two years. We original volunteers saw a need to enhance on what we were able to do to help the vast number of homeless pets coming through the City Shelter. Thus, A.D.O.P.T. was born. For the last twenty-six years our organization has been helping homeless pets by providing necessary life-saving veterinary care. Numerous companion pets have been given a second chance at life due to our efforts. We also provide specialized food and supplies when needed and educate the public to the need for the humane treatment and care of animals and the importance of spaying and castration. We help to connect people giving up pets with families looking for new four-legged family members. We also assist pet owners with catastrophic, overwhelming veterinary bills. Without our help these pets may not survive. Only with your help can we continue to provide needed care to the less fortunate companion animals and their families in our communities. We are in the business to help those who cannot help or heal themselves. Our major fundraising events are Pet Photos with Santa, Rudolph & Frosty, the original Pet Photos With the Easter Bunny and our Golf Tournament.
Your donations also help us with vaccines such as rabies, distemper/Parvovirus, Feline Leukemia testing, Heartworm testing, etc in addition to the numerous spays, neutering, Heartworm treatments, parvo and upper respiratory treatments along with other medical treatments given to homeless pets in need. We spent over $18,000 on medical care alone last year. We have also helped many family pets throughout the state this year. Every dollar that you can spare helps us in our cause. We could never have accomplished what we have without your support.
Please remember us through your payroll deductions.

Adopting a friend
An application must be completed before meeting any of our pets for adoption. We ask for reimbursement for spays/neuters, vaccinations etc. All adoptable pets are spayed, neutered, vaccinated and heartworm or Leukemia/FIV tested prior to adoption. You must show proof of ownership of a house by providing a tax bill or mortgage payment with your name on it. If renting, you must provide a copy of your lease or a notarized letter from the landlord stating that dogs or cats are allowed. We do call landlords.
