The PAWTUCKET ANIMAL SHELTER is a municipal shelter that accepts stray/abandoned animals from the City of Pawtucket. Our dedicated staff consists of one animal control supervisor, two animal control officers, a veterinary technican/ officer manager, a pound keeper and volunteers.
The adoption process includes a brief application and review of adoption obligations. There is a $15.00 adoption fee and a SPAY / NEUTER FEE that is now required by the State of RI. (The fee amount varies depending on the animal, gender, weight and veterinarian used --Surgery fees range from $65.00 - $175.00).
It is the law in Rhode Island as well as Massachusetts that any animal adopted from a shelter must be spayed/neutered.
Donations are always welcome. All medical donations go to our non-profit organization (the Mobile Animal Safety Initiative) which provides vet care for the animals in the shelter.
