Our Adoptable Pets on Petfinder

Meet Maima & Poo: Maima and her daughter Poo are true survivors: they were found in a West Philly yard during the last hail storm before the Summer heat hit last April. They were slowly starving to death in the chilly rain, Mom with little energy and no milk left, and Poo cold to the touch and barely moving. The next 48 hours following rescue were very rough, BUT thanks to plenty of TLC, warmth, food, love, and medical attention, both thrived and are the beautiful, happy, and healthy pair you now see [=]' waiting for their furever home! Poo is bonded to her mom. Even though there is no milk to offer, she still nurses, as it is is a comfort to her and to Maima. She loves her Mom and is never far from her. Maima (named for Frank Lloyd Wright's spunky lover) is an absolute love bug, always nudging her foster mom to curl up in her lap, or steal attention away from the computer. Both girls are spayed, vaccinated, and ready to share their hearts with you.

Who We Are:

Green Street Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization located in Center City, and focusing on rescuing stray and feral cats in the city. In addition to our adoption services, you can also contact us if you are caring for a colony of cats. We will train and provide you with resources for trap-neuter-return-manage (TNRM) and access to Philadelphia Community Cats Council's low-cost spay/neuter clinics. (www.phillycats.org). Green Street Rescue is NOT a shelter, but a network and rescue service helping to rescue and trap cats and have them vetted, spayed or neutered. After which, we will match lovable but unwanted, and abandoned cats with FURever homes with open doors and warm hearts. Feral cats will be ear-tipped and returned to their colony. If you are looking to foster or adopt, please let us know and we will help you find the new love (or loves) of your life. And consider adopting a pair--it's twice the fun and half the worry!!

Adopt a fabulous feline:

We screen our potential adopters. If you are interested in one of our wonderful rescues, the adoption process entails a completed application, vet reference, landlord approval, and a $110 adoption fee.  $135 fee for two cats as we believe in pairs!  Email us for an application. greenstrescue@gmail.com or pick up a hard copy at Le Cat Cafe at 2713 W. Girard. We opened March 9, 2016 and we are the city's FIRST cat cafe..Cat Cafes provide a casual environment where you meet and bond with cats awaiting adoption.
