Dogs In Need Of Homes!

Please see our Facebook page, Catahoula Rescue NorthEast, for Northeast's regional dogs You can also see dogs all across the US that are urgently in need of help on Monday's dogs. Check out our message board also for dogs in need - >

We are still in need of foster homes and donations to keep saving lives. We are overwhelmed with the amount of dogs that need rescue during this hard economic time. Shelters are overloaded, they are full and dogs have so little time, some shelters are kiling with heartstick and gassing more and more! Please consider a tax deductible donation by using PayPal donation button, there is no such thing as a donation that is too small. All is appreciated very much, all our funds go to the saving of dogs and please consider all dogs in shelters as URGENT, for they really are. ALSO please email for information regarding fostering, transporting or donating funds. Fostering is a short term commitment with a long term reward!!!
Upcoming adoption events will be posted soon! Visit our page often to see when we'll be holding an event!
Catahoula Rescue North East is currently accepting adoption applications for puppies and dogs that are coming into rescue. Please contact Donna Keen
We have held adoption events often at the Petco in Freehold, NJ. We hope to be holding some Petco adoption events in the future in other areas in and around the North East

Catahoula Rescue North East has new dogs arriving into foster care on a weekly basis. Please save our site under your favorites so that you can always be up to date on our pets in need of homes.

The Catahoula Rescue Network is a coalition of Independent Catahoula rescue groups across the United States. Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is a newly incorporated, nonprofit organization that works with the Rescue Network. We are an all volunteer organization. The mission of Catahoula Rescue, Inc. is to advocate for homeless Catahoulas and Catahoula mixes, to place these animals in permanent, loving homes, and to promote responsible guardianship through humane education. Catahoula Rescue saves dogs from death row at animal shelters and pounds, rehabilitates them if necessary, provides medical care, including spaying and neutering, and then fosters these dogs in volunteer foster homes until a suitable forever home can be found. We also assist responsible Catahoula owners if they must find a new home for their dog. We can offer advice and options that might make it possible for the dog to stay with his family. If it is still necessary to rehome the dog, we will list him/her on our available pets page as long as they are up to date on their vaccinations and spayed or neutered. Because of the flood of dogs coming from shelters, it is unlikely that we can provide a foster home for an owner surrendered dog. Catahoula Rescue does NOT maintain a central "shelter", where our foster dogs are kept in kennel areas. All of the dogs that come into our care, go to various foster homes throughout the North East region of the United States. Catahoula Rescue receives no funds from other groups or government sources. Our work is paid for by donations, adoption fees, and the volunteers themselves. For more information, please visit the Catahoula Rescue Network website.

Adopting a friend

All dogs are spayed or neutered and up to date on rabies, DHLPP vaccinations. Some are microchipped. Adoption fees help to offset expenses incurred in rescue. The first step in adopting a Catahoula is to fill out an adoption application. An application can be obtained by contacting Donna Keen for a direct adoption application link; or for a general one you may go ONLINE at: We have dogs coming into rescue on a continual basis; so if we don't have the one your looking for now, check back or fill out an application, and we will notify you when a dog fitting your description comes into rescue. No one is obligated or are we obligated until everyone is sure it is the right match. We don't sell dogs, we adopt them out to pre-screened home that match the dog. Please feel free to fill out an adopt application and get in touch with us. We are happy to answer questions at any time by phone or email.

This includes transporting, checking shelters, photographing dogs, helping with placement, assisting at adoption days, public relations, computer help and fund raising.
