Adopting A Friend

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Multnomah County Animal Services! Please see our web site, MultCoPets.org, to learn all about the adoption process, fees and adoption specials.

Keep in mind that adoption interviews must begin at least 1 hour prior to closing.

Who We Are

Multnomah County Animal Services (MCAS) is the only *open door* shelter in Portland. Our doors are open to all lost, stray and abandoned animals from Multnomah County and animals are never turned away due to age, health, temperament or lack of space. We provide care for all of Multnomah County's homeless pets, no matter their breed.

MCAS is the primary agency responsible for lost pet care, animal abuse investigations and animal rescue in Portland and throughout Multnomah County. We also offer dog and cat licensing, lost and found pet services, and animal adoptions through our shelter in Troutdale.
