Who We Are

Boxer Rescue Ontario is a registered charity based in Ontario, Canada. We are a volunteer-based organization dedicated to the rescue and placement of abused, neglected and unwanted Boxers. These dogs come from owners (people who can no longer care for their Boxer), shelter and other rescue groups.

The dogs we rescue are usually homeless through no fault of their own. Generally, they are either surrendered to us directly by their previous owners or come to us through shelters which are happy for our help. They are given up or dumped for various reasons though with Boxers it is rarely temperament related.

Once in our program the boxers are placed in foster homes where they are assessed and provided with any needed medical attention. In addition to assessing the dogs we spend a lot of time and effort to assess potential homes. Each dog is an individual and once we have a good idea of his special needs we will match him with his new permanent family. To promote responsible pet ownership all rescue dogs are placed either spayed/neutered.

Like other rescue groups our work relies on the generosity of our volunteers and the public. We ask adopters for a standard adoption fee which helps fund our extensive vet costs however in the end we must still rely on fundraising and donations.

Please check out our website for more information on our organization and the work that we do.
