Who We Are

The Friends of the Animal Shelter (FOTAS) was established as an independent non-profit organization in 1996 by animal lover Rich Ferris to support the efforts of the Coshocton County Animal Shelter and to address the problem of homeless and unwanted pets in our community. Shortly after FOTAS was established, the Dr. James Pyle and Dr. Kevin and Sandy Pile families generously donated a $50,000 trust for capital improvements to the Coshocton County Animal Shelter to be administered by FOTAS.

FOTAS now called four paws pet adoption center continues to operate entirely by animal loving volunteers. We have a dedicated board of directors that meets every other month. We are dedicated to the protection of animals and the advancement of their welfare.

Funds raised by four paws pet adoption center are used for programs to decrease pet overpopulation, educate the public about responsible pet ownership, pet rescues, and for specific rescue center improvement projects. We always welcome new members and new ideas. Feel free to join FOTAS and volunteer in a variety of ways - the animals need us!

There is an Adoption Application for each pet
