About Us

We would like to thank everybody who participated in our fundraiser at Applebees this past Wednesday.  Dining to Donate is an easy way to support the shelter and enjoy a great meal at the same time!  Next up is our dog swim, scheduled for Sunday, August 18th at Walter's Grove Swimming Pool.  Lifeguards will be on duty for the doggies. There will be a cookout for the people and bobbing for hotdogs for the dogs.  The event will be held rain or shine from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Who We Are

About the Parma Animal Shelter

The Parma Animal Shelter, Inc. (“PAS”) has been organized for the purpose of staffing the City of Parma Animal Shelter with volunteers, paying certain expenses of operating the Shelter, and generally promoting the following objectives:

-Work to prevent animal cruelty, abuse, and neglect.

-Educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering to control pet over-population.

-Increase public awareness and appreciation of companion animals.

-Assist in providing a stress-free, healthy environment for lost, abandoned, neglected, and stray animals.

-To provide emergency and wellness medical care for PAS, Inc. animals.

-To find permanent placement into new homes.

To reconcile lost pets with their owners and find good homes for stray animals brought in by the Parma Animal Warden.

The Parma Animal Shelter is run by volunteers for the stray and abandoned animals of the City of Parma. Volunteers dedicate their time to tasks such as walking the dogs, cleaning cages for the dogs and cats, feeding the animals, and giving them love. We also have volunteers that foster some of our animals in their home.

We DO NOT participate in Community Service work programs.

Volunteers cannot accept dropped off pets.

The Shelter uses foster care for some animals and is always looking for foster homes and volunteers to work at the shelter. You must be a volunteer in order to foster. You must be 18 or over to volunteer to handle animals. Jr. Volunteers must be 15.  Please stop by the shelter in person to fill out an application to volunteer.
