List of authorized transporters or contacts (Proof of affiliation with rescue organization)

If a transporter is not listed for your organization, a letter signed by a president or officer of the organization permitting another person to adopt a dog on behalf of the rescue group can be faxed or emailed to us. All dogs available for adoption at our shelter appear healthy, however it is recommended you take the animal to the vet upon leaving the shelter. Fairfield County Dog Shelter provides no guarantees or refunds.

State law requires all stray dogs be held for three (3) business days before they are available for adoption.
