Volunteer Application: http://www.toledoanimalshelter.com/system/files/VolunteerApplication.pdf
Our dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are all available for adoption. Because new animals arrive almost daily, we encourage you to stop by and meet our "orphans" or call to see if a particular breed or size, is available. The adoption process is simple, but we must be sure that our animals are going to good, stable, loving homes. We do have an Adoption Application process. We ask a fee of $50 for kittens under one year of age, $40 for one to two years of age and $30 for cats two years and older. Fees for puppies less than one year are $95, and $85 for dogs over one year, to cover the expenses of spaying/neutering, vaccinations, veterinary care and housing until a suitable home is found. The Shelter invests approximately $400 in each animal on average, and your donations help defray a portion of these costs. All of our animals are spayed or neutered and have received preliminary shots and veterinary care before leaving the shelter. Dogs and cats are also treated for fleas, ticks, and round worms. Dogs are tested and treated, if necessary, for heart worm. Cats are tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV (a form of feline AIDS). Our new facility features a special Bonding Room where you and your family can spend some quality time alone with our animals before deciding which one to adopt. http://www.toledoanimalshelter.com/system/files/adoption+application+%28new%29.pdf
Since 1927, the Toledo Animal Shelter has been one the area's oldest no-kill rescue facility for homeless dog and cats. Our goal is to provide a loving, caring, and stable home for every animal entrusted to our care. None of our animals are euthanized except for incurable medical conditions. We are a nonprofit organization operating and relying solely upon donations from animal lovers. All of our animals are spayed or neutered and receive all preliminary vaccinations and veterinary care. Our "guest list" changes almost daily, so please feel free to stop by and meet some of our four-legged friends. If you are looking for a specific age, breed or type of animal, please ask our staff to add your name to our list. We'll call if we receive an animal that matches your criteria. Our new rescue facility, opened in mid-2004, is conveniently located in South Toledo and was specifically designed for the ultimate care of all animals.
The Toledo Animal Shelter is conveniently located at 640 Wyman Street, in South Toledo. We are located one block east of Byrne Road and two blocks north of Airport Highway.
