Who We Are

The Humane Society Serving Clark County welcomes you to our Petfinder profile. We are excited to be able to showcase our adoptable pets on Petfinder. If you see a pet that you would like more info on, please call the shelter at once. While we try to place all adoptable animals into homes or with rescue groups, we do get full quickly and need to move the animals as quickly as possible, either into homes or rescue groups. Since our Humane Society is also contracted to provide animal control services for our county, we can never be sure of the number of incoming animals at any given time. Therefore, please notify the shelter at once if you have interest in one of our featured animals. The Humane Society is proud to announce our new partnership with The Allen Correctional Facility's P.E.T.S. training program. Their program has been in existence since 2001 and to date has graduated 576 dogs. P.E.T.S. stands for PETS EDUCATED TO SURVIVE. This program is totally funded through donations at absolutely no cost to the taxpayers. These dogs receive basic obedience and Canine Good Citizen training. Applications can be filled out at We are excited to work with them and will keep updated memos on the dogs in the program. We are accepting donations to help us to alter these animals for the program and to get all their vet care.

We are happy to work with legitimate rescue groups to help place our animals. If you are with a rescue group we have not previously worked with, we may ask you to provide references, copies of adoption contracts, or similar documentation from your group. The rescue contact at the shelter is Jeff Ruff, phone 937-399-2917, extension 20.
