Compassionate Action Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) group that is committed to saving the lives of our community's unwanted, abused and abandoned cats and kittens. We are a strictly volunteer organization that operates out of Petco in Selden and Lake Grove in Suffolk County, NY. Following rescue, our wonderful foster homes provide much-needed love, medical attention and socialization. After testing, vaccination and other necessary medical care, our cats and kittens are kept in a safe environment until their perfect forever home is found. All prospective homes are carefully screened to meet our high standards, which ensure the best possible ending for all.
If you are interested in adding a lot of love to your home by adopting one of our sweet cats or kittens, please contact Elizabeth at 516 480-9279 or email us at email@example.com. Feel free to fill out an adoption application available on our website to speed up the process. If you live nearby, come in and see our cats on display at Petco in Selden (1100 Middle Country Rd) or Lake Grove (140 New Moriches Rd).
Compassionate Action Inc. is seeking volunteers on an ongoing basis. There is so much to do and an overwhelming need for people and funds to get things done. Please
fill out a volunteer application on our website if you would like to volunteer to care for our cats in Petco,
feed local outdoor colonies or foster our cats in your home. Additionally, we can always use more help with fundraising, public relations, special events, etc.
Volunteers also have the opportunity to help with adoption events held inside Petco in Selden and Lake Grove. This helps give our cats the much-needed exposure that might connect
them to their perfect forever home!
We are also looking for land and/or buildings on Long Island that can be used as a sanctuary for our feral cat colonies. Even a large barn would be useful for this type of sanctuary.
Donations of dry/wet cat food, cat beds, cages, safe cat toys and store gift certificates are always welcome. Cash donations are especially needed to help cover our costs for food and supplies, medical testing and vaccinations, spaying and neutering, and treating any other possible conditions. Please visit our website for more information on donating.
