The seeds of Kindness for Kitties were sown in 2002 as a result of the work
of a few dedicated Long Island residents who began by using their own personal
funds to implement a large Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) project at a private
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for feral cats born and living in colonies and to ultimately reduce the number of such cats by promoting TNR as the most humane and effective means of solving the feral cat overpopulation crisis and by socializing kittens and finding permanent loving homes for them and the domesticated strays we rescue.
We do not maintain a physical shelter and cannot assist in placing cats or kittens. Rather, we depend on volunteers to provide foster homes for the kittens we rescue from the colonies we manage. If you are able to volunteer as a foster home, please contact us.
Kindness for Kitties is an independently funded project of PeaceSmiths, Inc., a 32 year old organization focused on community activism, social change and grassroots organizing. It is non-profit and tax exempt.
