Donations and volunteers are greatly appreciated! We are always happy to have gently used toys, blankets, towels, and of course food (canned and dry for dogs and cats)!
Our volunteers are the greatest! The animals so enjoy having new faces to walk with, play with, and snuggle with! Experience with animals is preferred but not entirely necessary. Sorry, but all volunteers must be 18 years or older, please. All volunteers must be approved by the Shelter and are obligated to sign a liability waiver. Please inquire for more details.
To adopt a pet you must fill out an adoption application to be approved by staff. There is a 24-48 hour hold on all adoptions to give us a chance to review your application and give you a chance to think about the commitment of owning a pet. Adopted pets may not be given as gifts, out side of the household. The adoption fees vary dependent upon licensing fees and spay/neuter refunds.
We are a small shelter with a small, dedicated staff. Our facility is a quick holding place, not meant for long term living. Animals are not in a home environment, but cages day in and day out. All of our animals deserve better lives than we can give in a shelter situation.
We are a municipal Shelter and Animal Control office. We serve the City of Oswego and contract sheltering for surrounding townships. We work aggressively to place as many adoptable animals as possible in good, caring, and permanent homes.
