Our Featured Pet...

We currently house over 200 animals daily!! If you are looking for a specific pet, please email the shelter to put in a request. We do not post all the animals here because of our limited staff time and turnover rate with the animals. If you have other questions: Please contact the Chautauqua County Humane Society at 716-665-2209 ext. 210 or stop by our Adoption Center located at 2825 Strunk Rd., Jamestown, New York.

The Chautauqua County Human Society would like to thank all of its wonderful staff and tireless volunteers for all their hard work and the loving dedication that they give to the Shelter and all its inhabitants.

Who We Are

The Chautauqua County Humane Society, Inc., SPCA is dedicated to promoting the adoption of animals, preventing all forms of cruelty and neglect, sheltering lost, abandoned, and homeless animals, and providing education about the humane treatment of animals to our community. CCHS no longer euthanizes animals due to overpopulation in our shelter. All healthy and friendly animals are put up for adoption and our mobile adoption unit travels around WNY and Northern PA to make off-site adoptions.

Adopting a friend

All pets adopted out will be spayed or neutered, have current rabies (if old enough) and distemper shots, and will be wormed. Cats are all tested for Feline Leukemia. Prospective adopters are welcome to sit and meet a pet in one of our "Get Acquainted" rooms. An adoption application must be filled and reviewed by CCHS staff before the adoption is completed.
