Daisy and Chico

Daisy (white dog) and Chico (black dog) arrived 8/6 from an overcrowded shelter that ran out of room for them when their owner passed away. Chico is 10 years old and Daisy is only 8. Daisy is a spayed female and Chico is a neutered male. Daisy appears to be a Chihuahua mix, and Chico might be as well. They’ve been to the vet and had dental work, so that’s one less thing to have to think about! They are currently in a foster home and an appointment would be needed to meet them. Their foster mom has this to say about them: Daisy is just a sweet old lady, most happy next to me getting kisses and hugs. She doesn't do much playing, just likes being by your side. She prefers not to go outside on cold and rainy days; she is crate trained. Daisy is very laid back, gets along with other dogs and cats. At times if the cat moves too fast, Daisy is reminded not to chase them. She cannot get up on furniture, but can get down on her own. Listens to commands. Chico very protective of Daisy. He is just good old boy. Loves to sleep, buried in blankets. Doesn't do as good with cats but does ok with other dogs. He loves to be outside in the sunshine. Chico has had to work on his potty training and is doing much better. He will hang out in a crate as long as Daisy is in there. Poor Chico only has one tooth left, so is on a diet of canned food. Chico loves to be snuggled. He plays more when alone on my bed. Listens well to commands as well. Deathly afraid of loud noises, thunder, gun shot! They love laying in the sun. As well as riding in stroller or car. Daisy hates clothes, Chico loves his tee shirts and jackets. These two are a bonded pair! Do you have it in your heart for the both of them?? The duo is kindly sponsored by Diane Weakly and Ripley 2nd Grade Class, Westfield Vet Hospital and Muffie Mascaro in memory of Mary Leah and Muffy. Thank you! If you think you might be interested in adopting, your first step should be to complete an adoption application. Our Pet List

Our mission is to rescue and provide sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs and puppies and do our best to secure for each of them permanent, loving responsible homes. To promote respect and compassion for all creatures through humane education. To reduce pet overpopulation by increasing public awareness of the need to spay and neuter companion animals. To build or otherwise acquire, maintain and operate a shelter for dogs and puppies. NCCR is located in Westfield, NY which is between Erie, PA and Buffalo, NY.

All puppies/dogs over 16 weeks of age will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. The adoption fee is $175 (includes spaying/neutering, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming and microchip). If the puppy is too young for altering at the time of adoption, the adoption fee is $250. Adopter must sign contract agreeing to spay/neuter by specified date in the adoption contract. $125 is returned to adopter upon proof of spaying/neutering. The adoption fee includes age appropriate vaccinations, worming, and microchip (to be implanted by shelter staff when puppies are over 4 months).

Senior dogs or special needs dogs are adopted out at a reduced fee or the fee is waived if an excellent home is found.

Other Departments
We try to match each dog with its new home so that chances for a successful, lifetime placement are much higher. Each interested party is asked to fill out an application. Once the application is completed, we interview the potential adopter.

All dogs over 16 weeks old are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Strict follow-ups are made to insure puppies are spayed/neutered when they reach 16 weeks of age.

Visit weekdays between 1 & 3 p.m. or otherwise by appointment. Morning, evening and weekend appointments are available.
